Synopsis

Domestic violence, also known as domestic abuse, spousal abuse, battering, family violence, and intimate partner violence (IPV), is a pattern of behavior which involves the abuse by one partner against another in an intimate relationship such as marriage, cohabitation, dating or within the family.  There doesn’t need to be physical scars –there is abuse that results in emotional scars too.  There is sexual abuse; emotional abuse; controlling or domineering; intimidation; stalking; passive/covert abuse (e.g., neglect); and economic deprivation. No matter what culture, religion, color, income bracket, profession there is no typical profile of an abuser or an abused. Our guest, Penny Krowitz, is the executive Director of Act To End Violence Against Women.  She talks with Deborah Moskovitch and Steve Peck about domestic violence and what you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones.  Over the years, Penny has played a leadership role in identifying the strategic issues facing Jewish women and their families
