Napier is eyeing up a day-night cricket test when international sport return to the Hawkes Bay.The region has been starved of international cricket over the past two summers, due to an unreliable drainage system at McLean Park.The turf is being ripped up and replaced after this weekend's Super Rugby match between the Hurricanes and the Sharks.Napier City Council Chief Executive Wayne Jack told the Radio Sport Breakfast once finished it will become a perfect spot for day-night test cricket."We've got great weather, also Hawkes Bay is fantastic for food and wine so we could make it a real experience for people to come along and experience a day-night Test match."Jack is promising Napier sports fans that the drainage issues will be a thing of the past as it's not just the soil being replaced at McLean Park."We're also replacing all the drainage [and] putting in a complete new irrigation system.
