Synopsis
A defining five days for test cricket in Auckland. The day-night match between the Black Caps and England is the first test at Eden Park in over four years.New Zealand Cricket CEO David White told the Radio Sport Breakfast the day-night match is important for the ground's future as a test venue."We need it to be successful because it is very expensive to open the gates and for it to be economical for us."Other ones around the world, particularly in Australia, have been hugely successful so it's a milestone moment for us. Hopefully it's going to be very, very successful."NZ Cricket is forecasting a total crowd of 50-60,000 people for the test so White says more than 10,000 fans per day would be a good result for them."We think we're probably around 12 or 15,000 today and Friday and Saturday but that will depend on a reasonable walk up as well."The day-night test is scheduled to start at 2pm, with ball-by-ball commentary on Radio Sport.LISTEN ABOVE AS DAVID WHITE SPEAKS TO THE RADIO SPORT BREAKFASTSee omnystudio
