Here is a real classic from 2007! Ron Ananian, The Car Doctor opens the show with the Repair of the Week from his shop; a 1996 Audi with multiple problems. In the second half of this show, Ron opens with busy phones & takes a call regarding a vibration on a 2009 Toyota RAV4. The problem occurs only when initially starting out, cold, in the morning. And only while the vehicle is moving. Ron walks her (and us!) thru some steps of do's and don'ts that someone can do to check without having to go to a mechanic. Its off to Iowa next, with an 03 GM pickup truck that doesn't start. The caller has replaced some parts but hasn't fixed anything. Ron breaks it down into simple so we can all understand. Walking us thru how the ignition switch works on this vehicle helps to paint the picture. Ron starts this hour talking about a 2005 Ford Van that his shop serviced in 2014. A low mileage vehicle BUT its in rough shape due to its age and it sits a lot. A good conversation pointing out the problems with age of a vehicle more so than mileage.  The phones kick off with a call from Iowa; Randy has several fault codes in his 2010 Toyota. They have a conversation and Ron helps guide Randy in the right direction for a fix. A good call to listen to for an example of how to deal with multiple fault codes in a vehicle. We then go to Wisconsin to talk to a listener about buying a used car for $8,000. The caller has some specific ideas about wants and needs; he is looking for Ron's suggestions and tips.  Next, its to Minnesota to talk to Mike about his son's car that is running poorly. (A 2000 Ford Focus). The car went from running poorly to not running at all. Ron walks us all through a basic engine, no start diagnosis, that would apply to everything from an automobile to lawn mower. Good, solid information!

Ron opens this segment talking about a recent repair from his shop in 2014. A new customer came in with a lean fault code & an EVAP system fault on her 2004 Toyota Corolla. The Car Doctor takes us through it, pointing out that the 2 codes are not similar or connected. And then the car develops a 3rd fault code. Ron goes even deeper explaining it in everyday language. Before the end of the segment, Ron brings it to a positive conclusion, right in front of your eyes.  He then goes to Nebraska to respond to a callers questions about installing a lift kit in their Nissan Pick Up. This segment of Ron Ananian, The Car Doctor finds Ron talking about the importance of getting good vehicle information in order to repair cars. This leads Ron to welcome back  a return guest, Paul Marshall of Alldata Information Systems to talk about the latest and greatest for 2014. But its not just a look back; its about the numbers; they talk about the overall size and scope of what it takes to produce repair info by 2014 standards; you can only imagine how it has grown in the past 10 years. They also discuss Alldata DIY information as this was the year of its launch. Ron then opens the phones to talk with Pat from Illinois with problems in his 2003 GMC Envoy. He has temp gauge issues and his shop has replaced multiple parts all to no avail. Ron helps nudge the repair in the right direction.
