I'm Made New
19/02/2017 Duration: 15minAren’t you thankful that you are not who you were 10 years ago? 20 years ago? In Middle School? I know I am so very thankful that I outgrew the frizzy tight perms and the horrendous multicolored shirt that I thought would be a good idea to wear to picture day. Mostly I’m thankful that I grew out of the negative attitude and insecurities I had as a middle schooler. Even more than that, I am thankful that because of my relationship with God I am able to leave behind the sinful nature of this world. Am I prefect? No. Do I still make mistakes? Yes. Yet because of God’s redeeming love and grace I have a new life and most importantly hope for the future. For this I am extremely thankful! This Sunday I am pressing on in the book of Ephesians and embracing the encouragement that Paul gives to his readers. So be encouraged, God knows who we were. Paul's Thanksgiving and Prayer
05/02/2017 Duration: 16minEvery so often Zoe asks if she can get the mail. I think she asks with the hope that there will be a letter for her. She loves getting mail, although in today’s culture the use of snail mail is becoming less and less. I would argue, that even though letters were the one way of communication back in the first century, as Twitter and Facebook didn’t exist back then, the regularity that one receives an actual letter is about as often as sweet Zoe does, which isn’t very often at all! This week, we are going to take a look at Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Paul wrote this letter while he was in prison, with the purpose of encouraging the believers to walk as fruitful followers of Christ, and to serve in unity and love in the midst of persecution. Although we are not a church that is facing persecution, we are a church who can use some encouragement to keep on going in the midst of our current situation (In general, every church can use such encouragement!). Join us as we look at Paul’s encouraging words whe
