Today we come to the last and worst of the seven churches addressed by Jesus. However, from the outside loooking in, you wouldn’t know it. They seemingly had everything, yet Jesus found them empty. This is a church that challenges our view of what we place worth and identity in.

What makes a church “faithful” in the eyes of Jesus? Is it size, power, footprint, $, conversions, baptisms, number of people participating? How might our measurables be at odds to God’s? Jesus answers this question today as we look at the church in Philadelphia. Have a look & listen to God’s word today!

When you think about your relationship with Christ, do you think about “the good old days” of the past or what Christ is actively doing in your life today? This morning, we see a church living off the fumes of its past glories. Let’s open God’s word and see what Jesus says to a church apathetically going through the motions.

You can be a loving, faithful church that checks all the boxes for serving others, but what happens when the message within the walls gets muddied? In Jesus' letter to the church in Thyatira, we see the urgency and challenge of dealing with false teaching and what can happen if falsehood festers for too long.

We live in a world that pressures Christians to compromise God’s “antiquated” standards. But should God’s standards change with our changing world? What does Jesus say? We have much to learn and apply to our lives & our churches today from God’s Word!

At Christmas, we give and receive gifts. Those gifts are often based on “being bad or good.” But how bad is too bad? How good is good enough? Today, we look at God’s gracious paradigm of giving the ultimate Christmas gift! Let’s open God’s word and listen & believe this essential gospel truth on Christmas Eve!

How do you act when the person in charge isn’t looking? In the final pages of Nehemiah, the leader of God’s people heads out of town for a while. While away, how do the people of God do? How would you fare? Their failure is our failure today. The real question is, what (or who) brings about lasting change?

God is telling a story written throughout time and He works through people to accomplish His good proposes. We call the progress of this story the Providence of God and it has empowered God’s people through all ages.

It’s a beautiful thing for God’s word to bring about conviction, confession, worship, and a renewed commitment on paper. But, “talk is cheap.” Real revival brings real change to our everyday lives. Today, the people of God get granular about life change. Buckle up this morning as we get specific about potential areas of change in our lives as well!

We often hear the word “revival” tossed around in Christian circles. But, what does genuine revival really look like? Not look like? In today’s text, we see the biblical marks of revival with God’s people. As we learn, let’s ask the Lord to bring heart revival to our lives as well!

As soon as the wall around Jerusalem is completed, the work inside the walls begins. However, this work is not focused on building physical structures. This work is on restoring the spiritual heart of the people through the Law.
