Do you believe you need God’s help? We often have to fail in our own strength to see our need for God’s help. Today we see God’s work completed through God’s people. But will the opposition stop? Charles Sturgeon said that If you would sum up the whole character of Christ in reference to humanity, that it must be said that "He was moved with compassion.” Let us look at the compassion of Christ toward us and how we are to do likewise to our fellow-man.

Scripture warns us that Satan is scheming against the people of God. But, if we know his methods and our God who fights for us, we are more prepared to resist him. If God has ever called you to start something, the starting is often the fun part. The stick-to-it perseverance is often the challenge. Today, Nehemiah encounters opposition from without and from within. How will he & the people of God respond? Nehemiah 3 records God’s people coming together to do an impossible task. With Gods help they begin the rebuilding of the wall. Nehemiah has the green light to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the wall. But he needs God’s people who are deeply discouraged to join in the work. As a godly leader, what’s Nehemiah to do? How will he motivate them? Come, let’s learn some timeless truths from God’s word this morning!

Godly leadership can be a challenging task. We want to trust God & take action. We want to take risks, but we must be calculated. We want to serve & lead. Godly leadership calls for God’s wisdom! Notice God’s wisdom at work in Nehemiah’s life today as He seeks to serve His King. Consider how his example might influence your leadership for His glory and others good!

What are the marks of a great leader? How are they motivated? Where does their confidence come from? What do they do? Countless resources inspire people to lead. This morning, we look at a more ancient source to understand leadership, godly leadership. Lets dive in and see how God shapes and molds godly leaders for His purposes!

In life we can have the tendency to live in the theoretical while not putting into practice what we know. In his epistle to the Romans Paul exhorts the church to be a living sacrifice to God based on his wonderful mercy he has shown. This is the only logical response of anyone who has truly been gripped by the grace of God. Let us look at how we are to offer ourselves to God in worship for what he has done for us!

The disciples left everything to follow Jesus. They’ve been with him for over two years. They start asking the questions we would likely ask. What’s in it for me? What’s my reward for my years of service? Today, Jesus reminds his faithful disciples how God’s kingdom economy works & doesn’t work. Great truths to apply to our lives from this parable!

If you could invite one person in human history to a dinner party, who would it be? Perhaps you answer, Jesus! Are you sure about that? Today, we see Jesus raising eyebrows at a dinner party by dropping some kingdom truths on the guests and host of the party. Much to learn and apply from today’s text!

Do you ever think about the afterlife? What heaven or hell would be like? What those who have come before us are experiencing now? How permanent is the eternal state after death? What might those beyond the grave want to say to the living if they could? This morning, Jesus opens a window into the afterlife to show us how to live & believe today!

Lack of self-awareness-you’ve seen it in others, and perhaps you’ve got some blind spots yourself. But, there’s one area of life that we can’t afford to lack self-awareness. Perhaps one of the most well known parables of Jesus, the parable of the Good Samaritan not only answers the question, "Who is my neighbor and how do I love them?," but also the question, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" We look no further than Jesus himself to see the fulfillment of all of these things.

When Jesus instructs his disciples regarding forgiveness the question soon arises, “how many times?” Christ then gives a parable reflecting God’s mercy towards man and how we are to emulate this same grace. Let us walk through this parable together.
