  • 170: Feeding 1,000 Kids per Day with Success with Jeff Ragan

    22/10/2018 Duration: 43min

I’m so excited to have my friend and fellow masterminder, Jeff Ragan, on the show today. As the founder of KiZE Concepts, his story really showcases what it truly means to be generous. Seeing food as something that links us all together, he took a risk with his peanut butter “fudge-like” bar and founded KiZE Concepts in an effort to change lives through food, service and charity. Jeff admits that the process has always had its challenges – especially since he knew nothing about running a business – but it’s been an enjoyable fight nonetheless because he knows he’s helping others (KiZE helps feed 1,000 kids a day in Haiti) and inspiring others to do the same. Get ready for a knowledge- and inspiration-packed episode that will have you motivated to give more in all areas of life. Jeff’s energy is contagious and I can’t wait to hear what kind of an impact our conversation has on you!   In This Episode We Talk About: Where the idea of KiZE originated Jeff’s 3E Principle (Easy, Enjoyable and Energizing) What gi

  • 167: Building A Great Business is an Act of Love

    11/10/2018 Duration: 10min

I’ll be honest with you, some nights it would be easier to shut down at 5, crack open a beer and Netflix and chill with Lori – and put my worries away until the next day. But deep down I know that I won’t be satisfied with that when I know I’ve got big things to do and lives to change. Building a great business is truly an act of love.   We don’t want to waste the gifts we’ve been given. This doesn’t mean that everyone should be an entrepreneur – trust me when I say that we need people with other gifts that usually support people like me. But being an entrepreneur takes sacrifice, and here’s four reasons why it’s also an act of love.   You’re building solutions people need. You’re improving peoples’ lives with your solutions. If you don’t provide these solutions that people need to protect your ego, time and energy, it’s actually an act of selfishness.   You’re creating jobs. All the supporters of your business? You’re creating jobs for them, showcasing their talents and giving other gifts along the way.

  • 166: The Courage to be REAL and AUTHENTIC with Steve Weatherford

    08/10/2018 Duration: 01h02min

Today’s guest and former NFL star, Steve Weatherford, and I have been trying to connect and get him on the show for a year now. But we both came to the same consensus that this specific timing was meant to be. With so many revelations happening recently for this former American football player, Steve feels called now more than ever to uncover all of them and share them with others in podcasts like this (and on his own new podcast show – link in Resources).   Today, Steve and I do a deep-dive into all aspects of his life, past and present, focusing not just on what he’s done or doing now, but most importantly about what he’s passionate about and what lights him up. Steve gives permission to all men out there who feel they need to portray an “alpha” man to share their vulnerability instead. We don’t have to focus on our inadequacies – we get to focus on the wins, too.   This is such a life-changing (possibly life-saving for some) episode for so many reasons and I’m so excited for you all to listen in. Be sure t

  • 165: How Do Couples Make Financial Decisions Together

    04/10/2018 Duration: 15min

One of the most popular questions I get is how Lori and I as a couple make financial decisions. It’s not surprising when you see everywhere just how stressful finances can be. So today, I’m sharing a few game-changing ground rules that will help you feel better about your and your partner’s relationship with money.   Set your ego aside. Regardless if you’re the sole bread winner or you both work, no ONE person is at fault. You should both have a strong interest in your financial goals. (If you don’t, this is your wake-up call to start!) This is a team effort and no one is meant carry the burden alone. Ensure there are no secrets, share your fears and keep those old financial stories out of it.               “Living in the now is the only way to have certainty of your financial future.”   Learn your partner’s communication style. This is imperative. Keep in mind that your partner will not hear you if your message is being given in a way they cannot receive. Trust me. When Lori and I first began working tog

  • 164: Riding The Success Roller Coaster with Fitness Celebrity Natalie Jill

    01/10/2018 Duration: 39min

Today’s conversation with the one and only Natalie Jill of Natalie Jill Fitness is long overdue, but I feel like we’re connecting at the perfect time all the same. Having been friends with Natalie Jill for quite some time now, her initial rock-bottom comeback story is amazing, but after experiencing another setback recently, her story is both inspiring and eye-opening.   Natalie Jill’s journey began 15 years ago when she found herself at rock bottom – she was a divorced single mom who lost her house, her retirement and gained a lot of weight. She created a vision board to inspire her to make changes, but took it one step further by posting the process on social media for accountability. Not only did she find accountability, she also found a following that quickly led to a $3 million-plus business.   Seemingly having it all figured out, it was a shock when Natalie Jill realized that her “following” wasn’t hers and she saw a dramatic downslide to her business. With changing algorithms and a saturated market, sh

  • 163: What Happens If You Lose It All? A Question from Instagram

    27/09/2018 Duration: 12min

There’s a misconception out there that only the people who are down and out struggle with their money mindset. I couldn’t disagree with that more – very successful people also feel the same fear. In fact, the other day, I received an DM from a young, super successful woman on Instagram. (By the way, I love getting messages and questions from you so feel free to send them my way @chriswharder).   This 24-year-old woman shared how while she was presently super successful, she was terrified of being successful and having it ripped away. See, when she was younger (age 14) her father lost his job and to make ends meet she ended up having to work 5-7 jobs to keep the household afloat. Can anyone relate to this? I know I can. Following are the five tips I shared with this woman to help her work through and manage her fear:   It’s better to have something to begin with then to never get it in the first place. It’s good to have a healthy fear so you keep working hard. Don’t see it as fear, see it as urgency. Be prese

  • 162: From 5 Million Dollars to Broke - A Money Mindset Lesson with Ashley Stahl

    24/09/2018 Duration: 51min

I don’t even know where to begin telling you about today’s guest, Ashley Stahl. I met Ashley in my mastermind group, but it was recently that I really sat down to hear her story, and wow! Prepare yourself to be in awe of her mind-blowing journey so far.   While now a career coach and writer with successful business, her career journey began early on at age 23 in Washington D.C. at the Pentagon managing a high-level counter-terrorism program. She excelled in the position and knew that it looked good on paper, but she knew it wasn’t the right fit when she wound up with a bag over her head in a routine drill. Ashley knew she could continue on, but she also knew that she wasn’t staying true to who she was.   Ashley left the Pentagon and high-tailed it back to L.A. where she grew up, found another job in intelligence in the private sector, but also started a side hustle as a career coach. That side hustle is now a thriving business, and as you’ll hear in this episode, it was full of highs and lows (millionaire to

  • 161: How To Bust Through Your "Ceiling", FAST!

    20/09/2018 Duration: 16min

Some may find it hard to believe but everyone, and I mean everyone, has a ceiling. Yes, even Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey or any other wildly successful person has one. And here’s why:   “Everybody has a ceiling or they’d be higher than they are now.”   For example, let’s say a person is making $100K a year. Why aren’t they making $200K? Because they have a ceiling. You can change the numbers, but you’ll still get the same answer. But here’s the good news. Every ceiling can be lifted. If you need a visual, think about those cheap drop-down tile ceilings that people used to put in their finished basements. When installed, yes, there’s a ceiling there, but it can easily be busted through to expose more space above it. And you can do the same with your “ceiling.”   Here are five steps to help you do just that.   Acknowledge that you have a ceiling and you’ve hit it. Now look for patterns and see how you can change it. Choose to bust through the ceiling. This is your moment to burn the boats! “Make sure it’s a real

  • 159: Who Should Have The POWER? The Good Guys or The Bad Guys

    13/09/2018 Duration: 12min

I’ve been wanting to talk about today’s topic for a while and am excited to dive in to whether or not the statement “Money is power,” is true. And if it is true, who should have the power? The good guys or the bad guys?   First off, I do believe that money is power because we all get an opportunity to “vote” with our dollars. The more money you have, the more say you have. People with more money are often looked up to more as a guiding example and they tend to have more of a responsibility with that power as well. They’re leaders and they don’t hoard their power, they share it. The only catch? We want power in the hands of good people who are going to do the above.   This same principle is shared in the book, “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews. Here are a couple of his quotes that sum it up nicely and also mirror a good portion of the For the Love of Money philosophy, too   “To do great deeds, great power is essential.” – Andy Andrews   “If money is power, do not run from power. Gather it as you would the

  • 158: Stop Wasting 76% of Your Facebook Marketing Dollars with Jacob Baadsgaard

    10/09/2018 Duration: 46min

I’m so glad that I was introduced to the founder and CEO of Disruptive Advertising, Jacob Baadsgaard. I was pulled to interview him instantly when I saw the powerful link between his income and generosity level. Believing that tithing supports an abundance mindset he’s also incorporated those beliefs into his business too, but creating a company charity committee.   In addition to the above, Jacob created Disruptive Advertising to help other businesses get the most out of their Facebook and Google ad dollars by getting their data in order and creating the right website experience. With clients spending millions per month in ads, it’s obvious Jacob and his team know what they’re doing. In this episode, he shares a few key tips that contributed to his success in hopes that it may help you turn around the performance of yours. I hope our conversation inspires you to do and give more, too!   --      Question Highlights: What’s one thing you’re challenged by? How did you develop your company’s charity committee a

  • 157: Why Isn't This "Good Enough?"

    06/09/2018 Duration: 13min

Has anyone ever asked you, “Why isn’t this good enough? You’ve already done x-y-z, so what do you want to do more?” Most often the people who ask have good intentions, but they don’t understand that you’re called to do bigger things. And this can be painful for others or make them feel threatened for a couple different reasons.   First, they may just feel threatened and afraid that you’ll move on and leave them behind. And secondly, it forces them to look in the mirror and where they’re at and they’re not liking what reflects back. But what they don’t realize is that almost none of us have done what we’re called to do – at least all aspects of it. We’re not built to remain the same (just look at nature!) and that means that we have to keep striving for more.   “Life isn’t meant to be good enough; it’s meant to keep growing.”   So if anyone questions you, don’t feel offended. They’re just not tapped into their higher calling yet, and you’re entitled to pursue anything you want. This isn’t good enough because y

  • 156: How To Pay As Little Taxes As Possible with Diane Gardner

    03/09/2018 Duration: 45min

  • 155: Be Grateful For Your Seeds

    30/08/2018 Duration: 09min

I just returned from the last leg of my two-month vacation and I feel recharged and freaking ready to go! So today I want to remind you to be grateful for your seed. What the heck do I mean?   You see, we all have special little seeds inside of us and that in turn becomes your business and eventually your wealth. Those little seeds could be a variety of things, such as a special talent or skill, an idea or some sort of innovation that no one has. Regardless of what it is, we all have them, but the problem is that we’re not grateful for them. We’re not grateful because that seed hasn’t turned into a full-blown crop/harvest yet and we’re comparing our seed to another’s crop (that yes, was once a seed).   Here’s where people need to step back and realize that only time and consistent effort will turn that seed into a crop. Don’t compare your journey to someone who’s already put that time/effort in or is in a completely different area of expertise.   “Your seed is unique to you and that’s why it’s valuable.”   St

  • 154: Life Coach To The Stars, Tim Storey

    27/08/2018 Duration: 51min

It was such a privilege to have my friend, Tim Storey, on the podcast. No matter how long or short our conversations are I always leave them a better person – and I know you will too. His words will set a fire in anyone’s soul! Tim’s story began in Compton, California where his family of seven lived in a two-bedroom apartment. It was there that he learned to “think big in small places.” That thought compounded later on in a life-changing conversation with his sixth-grade teacher when he was told, “I think you are brilliant.” From that moment, Tim bought into that idea, took it to heart and committed himself to helping that brilliant come out in some way. Fast forward to today and let’s just say, Tim’s teacher knew what he was talking about. Since that day, Tim has nurtured that seed of belief with faith, taking action and believing in a little bit of magic, too – and loves sharing that knowledge with others. I hope you enjoy our inspiring conversation as Tim discusses miracles, taking power steps, the differe

  • 153: What You Have TODAY Does Not Determine TOMORROW'S Abundance

    23/08/2018 Duration: 09min

If you’re experiencing feelings of lack, scarcity or worry right now, I hope my message today helps free you:   “Your abundance tomorrow is not determined by what you have today.”   We all have these feelings at one time or another, whether we’re super successful or barely making ends meet – and that’s OK! But we must do our best to get back into an energy of abundance by taking one step forward (big or small).   Today, you may not have what you want, but I bet you have a great idea and some skillsets that could help you put it into action. You never know what tomorrow will bring… Maybe with the help of another thriving individual, you’ll put it into action and have a major breakthrough, but you have to keep taking action.   Because there’s only one thing that will create the abundance for you…and that’s YOU! It’s up to you to go just one more step further than you already have.   “Your future is in your hands.”   Take 100% responsibility for where you are today. Yes, the good and the bad. This may feel eithe

  • 152: How to Connect with ANYONE with Alex Banayan

    20/08/2018 Duration: 01h11min

Imagine being set on a trajectory for the majority of your life, only to wake up one day questioning whether or not you’re on your path or a path someone else put you on.   This is what happened to my guest and author, Alex Banayan. From an early age, Alex’s parents’ dream was for him to become a doctor, and up until his freshman year in college it was what he thought he wanted to – until he realized it didn’t. Upon this realization, he attempted to seek the answers for how other successful people got their start – only to realize that such a book didn’t exist. Overcome with inspiration and a drive to write one on his own, he knew he had to find the funds to back this passion project.   Having trouble thinking about anything but this project, the day before his freshman year final exams, he made the decision to trade an all-nighter studying for exams with one on how to hack The Price Is Right. With a slim chance of actually winning, Alex beat the odds, won a sailboat, sold it, and used the prize money to fund

  • 151: How to Raise Your Game Quickly

    16/08/2018 Duration: 11min

While I never like to talk about my schedule being “too busy,” at the start of this week I was downright intimidated with mine. Fortunately for me, a friend of mine was in town and invited me out for brunch. That particular time is usually scheduled for my morning workout, but I’m so glad I chose an impromptu brunch instead.   This particular friend has a 100-million-dollar business and every time we’re able to connect, we have the best conversations and I wind up leaving with a ton of brand new ideas that will potentially help grow my businesses. This get-together was no different and as a bonus, it also reshaped my view on my schedule and what I get to do.   So if you’re looking for the fastest ways to up your game or become unstuck if you’ve plateaued, it’s time to find more tribe to connect with.   “Break bread with people who are doing better than you.”   Another way to connect with people? Charity events or galas. Lori and I attended a Pencils of Promise charity event on Tuesday evening and again, new i
