The Blue Ridge Savings Murders

The Disappearance of Michele Harris

Elsie Frost

The last time she was seen alive, she was walking towards her home. But, Elsie never made it home, and her body was later found by a man walking his children and dog in Wakefield, England. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murder of Elsie Frost. Investigators believe that she was attacked after she entered a railway tunnel on foot. Her murder shocked the community, and Scotland Yard sent detectives to assist with solving the case. The manhunt was huge, and as many as 12,000 people were questioned about their whereabouts on that day. Police finally zeroed in on a man named Ian Bernard Spencer. But was he Elsie's killer? And if he wasn't, did the time that police spent on Spencer cause them to discount Peter Pickering, who was dubbed by the press as the Beast of Wombwell? Ananda Dean

The police found some clues when some of her school books were found in two different locations at separate times. Her body was found less than two weeks after she disappeared. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the disappearance and murder of Ananda Dean. Even though the police had some clues to go on, they were at a loss to figure how who killed Ananda. Her body was badly decomposed and yielded few clues. This also caused a major delay in the identification of her body. The next month, police led a manhunt for two men who attacked a teen girl not too far from where Ananda was found. Could this pair be responsible for her murder? Honey Malone

Her body was found in a closet in the apartment's main bedroom. The police believe that Honey walked in on an armed robbery and was tragically in the wrong place at the wrong time, but Honey's family believes there is much more to the story. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the baffling murder of Honey Malone. Two people inside the apartment were not shot, and they later told police that masked men had kicked in their door and tied them up before Honey walked inside and was killed. Honey's family never gave up trying to find the truth, and in 2020, Donald Ashe, one of the individuals who said they were tied up in the apartment, was arrested. He has yet to go to trial, but it's just a matter of time before the truth comes out. The Mysterious Death of Frank Olson

Charles Morgan

The Beatrice 6

The police had some forensic evidence but struggled to figure out who had committed the murder. They eventually honed in on people who they believed fit the FBI profile of the killer or killers. In the end, five people falsely confessed to the murder, and six people were found guilty related to the crime. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the case of The Beatrice 6 and the murder of Helen Wilson. Joseph White, Thomas Winslow, Ada JoAnn Taylor, Debra Shelden, James Dean, and Kathy Gonzalez became known as The Beatrice 6. All but White eventually confessed to playing some role in the murder of Helen Wilson. They were eventually exonerated, but just how did the police get five people to admit to being involved when they apparently played no role at all? The Miyazawa Family Murders

The case has never been solved despite the killer leaving ample physical and biological evidence at the scene. It remains one of Japan's longest-running and most mysterious crimes. Marilyn Sheppard

Sam's story was that he woke up to hear his wife screaming and was knocked unconscious in a fight with a bushy-haired intruder. The police didn't buy it and when they learned of Sam's infidelity, they used it as the motive for him to kill his wife. A window washer who told the police he thought Marilyn was attractive implicated himself in the murder over the years. But, what is the real story? Melissa Caddick

A father who is missed after their entire is murdered is always going to be a suspect. Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès was no exception. Police quickly discovered that Xavier was in debt, had strange communications with other family members, and had purchased materials prior to the murders that made him look even more suspicious. But, police would have to find him to question him about the murders. Bible John

They were Patricia Docker, Jemima McDonald, and Helen Puttock. They had all gone out for a night of dancing and socializing before being murdered. The murder suspect became known as Bible John. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murders committed by Bible John. The murders of all three women shared many similarities. Helen Puttock's sister Jean shared a cab with her sister and the man who would later kill Helen. She shared a description with the police along with the fact that this man quoted the Old Testament which led to the media calling the killer Bible John. Ayla Reynolds

The search for Ayla became the largest criminal investigation in Maine history. Justin said that he put Ayla to bed around 8:00 PM on the night of December 16th and that the next morning when he woke up Ayla was gone. But, they eventually reversed course and began to believe that something may have happened to her inside the house. No one has ever been charged in Ayla's disappearance and many questions remain. The Hall Mills Murders
05/06/2022 Duration: 01h09minOn September 16, 1922, 41-year-old Reverend Edward Hall and 31-year-old Eleanor Mills were found dead beneath a crabapple tree in Franklin Township, New Jersey. Both Edward and Eleanor were married to other people. Despite multiple arrests and a sensational murder trial, no one has ever been convicted of the Hall-Mills murders. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murders of Edward Hall and Eleanor Mills. Eleanor's death was much more violent and brutal than Edward's. Witnesses said they overheard multiple women talking before they heard gunshots. This led police to believe that a woman was involved and involved a great hatred for Eleanor. Both of the victim's spouses were looked at but both provided alibis. But, Frances Stevens Hall, Edward's wife, had a lot of money and it's been speculated by some that she paid for her alibi. The Alphabet Murders
29/05/2022 Duration: 01h13minBetween 1971 and 1973, three young girls were abducted and murdered in Rochester, New York. They were 10-year-old Carmen Colon, 11-year-old Wanda Walkowicz, and 11-year-old Michelle Maenza. A number of eyewitnesses came forward to give clues to the police, but to date, none of the murders have been solved. Unique aspects of this case gave way to media outlets dubbing them "The Alphabet Murders." Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss The Alphabet Murders. What made the case unique, and gave way to its name, was that the first letter of each of the victims' first and last names was the same. Each victim was also dumped in a location in the Rochester area, which corresponded to these particular letters. Numerous suspects have come up over the years. There's even a theory that not all the murders are even linked. Regardless, the killer or killers remain on the loose to this day, despite some claiming to know who is responsible for at least one of the slayings.
