The five middle fingers take a trip to the woods and find some interesting reading material in this week's episode. Yup, It's Deadite time as your fearless five tackle the remake/reboot/reimagining/sequel to seminal horror classic The Evil Dead (1981). Can Evil Dead (2013) live up to the high expectations of horror's high counsel? But before the fun starts, you get treated to I Am Jack's News and, after grades, a less than relevant Top Ten list. This is one for the record books.

SlasherCast is honored to host a very special guest - writer, director, and special effects master Kenneth J. Hall. Taking time out from promoting the much-anticipated DVD release of his cult classic B-horror spoof Linnea Quigley's Horror Workout, Ken was good enough to let us pick his brain about the film, his decades-long career, his feelings on the state of horror today, and much more. If you're a true blue horror fan, you'll get a hell of a lot out of this one. Thanks again to Ken, and we hope you all enjoy.

It's Fingers Against Absenteeism as special guest @Paimonaeon joins in as SlasherCast unleashes the grapes of wrath against Girls Against Boys. The guys are less Ted and a hospitalized Mike (no worries, he lives to make terrible and inappropriate jokes next week) but you still get some news, trailer talk and, a special Top 30 list to round out the episode. On our 10th episode Dave (@thehumanimdb), New Jersey Nick (@newjerseynick) and Mike (@theflickist) tackle the documentary, My Amityville Horror.  The film discusses the real Amityville experience through the eyes of an adult Michael Lutz.  We go deep into the Amityville mythology and the paranormal in our best Side Effect discussion to date.  Give this one a listen or "For God's Sake, Get Out!"

We all go a little mad sometimes (Nick more frequently than most), but this is a rare case where the five middle fingers have little to get angry about as we delve into Bates Motel and its progenitor Psycho. No, not the useless Van Sanitized shot for shot remake that features a brown-eyed cameo, but the original Alfred Hitchcock classic. Will Norman Bates taste the rarified air of SlasherCast Platinum or will there be some weird hipster douchery to ruin the fun? We'll never tell, but this episode will. You also get a round of Mike's trailer heavy news before we dive right into the A&E pseudo prequel TV show. SlasherCast proves once again a boy's best friend is a horror podcast.

Come again? Yes, that's right... It's a double come episode as your friendly neighborhood five middle fingers go through a double review of Come Out and Play and I Didn't Come Here to Die. Join us as we go through all 5 stages of grieving (Anger, Anger, Anger, Anger and Anger) in this surprisingly angry episode. Mike's News starts things off, and then the boys go head to head on the merits of remaking a movie most people didn't know existed and the relative worth of vanity cards. Then, things take a turn for the angry as we have very disparate emotions over a low budget pseudo-slasher and what components low budget movies should have. It's not one to be missed. Next week, the guys take young Norman Bates through his paces as we review Bates Motel and the classic Hitchcock masterpiece, Psycho.

You don't want to play a game of death with these guys. This week, the Slashercast reviews two of the latest torture pornmovies that both happen to feature people being forced to play dangerous games with tough decisions and deadly consequences. First, there's the unpredictable new movie Would You Rather? which stars Brittany Snow and Jeffery Combs. The Five Middle Fingers hated the trailer when they saw it last month, but what did they think of the bloody final product? Also, the boys took one for the team watched the strange Japanese horror film X Game. Jack also shares his thoughts on what's been called the worst movie of 2012, Smiley. The guys also spend a good deal of time talking about how Army of Darkness 2 could happen, should happen, but ultimately won't happen.

Episode 8 takes us to the land of Oz as we review Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful.  Joining Dave (@TheHumanIMDB) on this episode is New Jersey Nick (@NewJerseyNick) and returning guest DA Chaney (@DA_Chaney).  Does the movie make us want to file union agreements with the Lollipop Guild or have us rocking in the corner repeating "There's no place like home"? 

Episode 7 is clearly not our lucky number as Dave, New Jersey Nick and special guest Katie Rots review Tyler Perry as a Detroit Police detective in Alex Cross.  We keep it short and to the point about what does work (very little) and what does not work in this movie.  The first negative review in Side Effect's short history.

SlasherCast gets a little of that old time religion as the five middle fingers review a two shot of possessed young girls. First, we get a little Mike's News with a plethora of tangents before settling down to business. Join us as we review The Last Exorcism 2 and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, where we cast out the demons of lazy storytelling and bad CGI and explore the good and bad of contorted teenage girls. The power of Christ compels you to listen to this episode!

It's our Diamond White episode! SlasherCast celebrates their 75th week together with a bit of Mike's news and 4/5 of a review of Dark Skies (someone couldn't be bothered to see it). In the third edition of Dear SlasherCast, the guys learn a bit about themselves and each other as they answer some hard-hitting questions from the fans. And will Ted's wily charm win the approval of the father of a young female listener? Well...maybe there's still time. Hope you all have a listen and a laugh!

A is for Amazing. B is for Brilliance. C is for...Crassness? This week, Slashercast reviews one of the most anticipated horror movies of 2013: The ABC's of Death. This 26-part horror anthology is a mash-up of different styles and sub-genres of horror with each segment created and directed by a different up-and-coming filmmaker. The cast dissects this cinematic beast letter by letter as the Five Middle Fingers pick their favorites and critique the less than savory offerings. Also, with several new Frankenstein movies in development, which one rises to the top to ruin the news? You might as well listen, because, really, this is a good week to be Slashercast fan.

This is it, people, probably the most epic episode of SlasherCast recorded thus far (and that's saying something). After intros and Mike's news, the guys warm up with an early Valentine's Day review of the zombie love story Warm Bodies and a discussion of some of 2013's upcoming zombie movies that NO ONE wants to see. Then the fuse gets lit on a monstrous powder keg of a review for the pseudo-werewolf teen lesbian drama Jack & Diane. If there's one SC review you listen to all the way through, make it this one. The middle fingers are all in top form for what will surely stand as a high mark in SlasherCast history. Sensitive ears, take note: the J&D subject matter did lend itself to some rather explicit and raunchier-than-usual discussion. You've been warned.

On our 6th Side Effect we have an extravaganza to discuss the video games of 2012.  We are joined by Dave and New Jersey Nick, as well as recurring guests DA Chaney, Chris, and Mike Maryman.  We discuss what we played in 2012, our biggest disappointments of the year, our top games, and what games we are looking forward to in 2013.

This week the five middle fingers go back to school with a review of Bad Filmmakers Go - uh, Bad Kids Go to Hell. They also fondly revisit Robert Rodriguez's underrated high school alien flick The Faculty. You'll also get Mike's news and even a surprise impromptu bit of nostalgic 90s karaoke. Enjoy!

The guys scale things back a bit this week with only one review of the Guillermo del Toro-produced ghost movie Mama. It proves to be pretty divisive - some heated discussion ensues, Nick and Dave go at it, and Ted speaks in tongues (seriously). You’ll also get Nick’s news as well as Dave’s news that he doesn’t give a shit about, and finally the guys examine some seriously shitty movie endings as well as unique death scenes with two new top ten lists.

The five middle fingers master the art of the sidebar. We welcome back New Jersey Nick into the fold who gives us his thoughts on Texas Chainsaw 3D and Crawlspace. Mike brings you his weekly news, and we review two home invasion horror movies, Citadel and Them. During our review of Citadel you also get a bonus review of another film as we struggle to stay on topic. The French home invasion movie Them starts an intense discussion regarding its quality and originality between some members of the cast. After our reviews and wrap-up you get Slashercast After Hours, which for some reason jumps into a preview of the next week's movie, Mama.

The podcast which you are about to hear is an account of the tragedy which befell a group of five dudes, in particular Jack, Mike, Ted and their humorless brother, David. It is all the more tragic in that they were sort of young. But, had they lived very, very long lives, they could not have expected nor would they have wished to see as much of the bad and idiotic as they were to see in that film. For them an idyllic January moviegoing experience became a nightmare. The events of that film were to lead to a review of one of the worst movies of 2013, Texas Chain Saw 3D… Also this week, you’ll get some news from Mike and a semi-review of the highly familiar and amalgamative Aussie sc-fier Crawlspace. The sensitive ears may want to shy away from this one…but for all others, enjoy!
