Roughing The Podcast

Di and Ted are back with episode 33. They roll into the show talking the weirdness that is the Vikings and Bears at Soldier Field, yet they still managed to get a win. They discuss whether or not Sam Bradford should have started, when the Vikings should have pulled him, and how long Bradford will be out. They also discuss Jerick McKinnon's break out game, and whether or not Jet and Latavius Murray can come close to replacing Dalvin Cook. They also talk the good but undisciplined defense, and terrible refereeing. They moved on to Vikings news, and the murky QB situation with Teddy Bridgewater scheduled to come off the PUP List next week. Who plays, when, and if both are healthy at the same time, who do you start? From there it was to the Packers game and try and figure out how to stop Aaron Rodgers. They talk about trying to stop Aaron Rodgers, the state of the Packers roster, an a score prediction From there, it's listener questions and a show wrap up.

Di and Ted are back discussing Minnesota Sports, and the Vikings loss to Detroit. How will Dalvin Cook's injury affect the running game moving forward? Is this a turning point in the season, or no? Can Latavius Murray step up? How many more games can Sam Bradford miss before we've reached a point of no return on the season? They move to the Bears, and how the new look Vikings will fare on Monday Night in the Windy city against Mitchell Trubisky. Finally, they wrap up the show by taking listener questions.

In this episode, Di and Ted are back, talking Vikings football, why her job reminds her boss of Blair Walsh missing wide left, and Ted's ode to High Hefner's, uh, articles. They kick off the Vikings talk by discussing the Bucs game. They look at whether or not Case Keenum can continue, and discussed how impressed they are with Dalvin Cook and the WR tandem of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. They also discuss the secondary, and whether or not Trae Waynes has turned a corner or not. From there, Xavier Rhodes is living rent free in the head of Mike Evans, and Everson Griffen calls Lions T Greg Robinson lazy.  They continue on with a Lions preview, and who ya got: Keenum or Stafford? They predict rushing yardage totals for Dalvin Cook, the vulnerability of the Lions defense, and whether or not the Lions remind us of the 5-0 start the Vikings jumped out to last year. Finally, they wrap up the show with listener questions.  

In this episode, Di and Ted review the Steelers game. There wasn't a lot of good, a decent amount of bad, and a lot of ugly. The review the mistake prone offense, the mistake prone defense, and the mistake prone defense. The result? An ugly loss, but one that has a couple silver linings. From there, they discuss a couple things around the NFL, namely Ezekiel Elliott and him quitting on a play fairly late in the Cowboys loss to Denver. Was it as bad as it looked, or no? From there, it's on to Tampa Bay and listener questions.

Di and Ted return with another episode of RTP. In it they discuss some Vikings news from cutdown day on, since Ted was on vacation and there was no show last week. From there, the Saints game. They break down the Monday Night contest, and talk Sam Bradford and the offense, Dalvin Cook, and the play of the offensive line. On defense, they talk the return of Adrian Peterson and how the Vikes stymied him, and they do a who's better: Kendricks or Barr? From there, it's a preview of the upcoming Steelers game, with finals score predictions. And finally, they wrap up the show with listener questions.

In this episode, Di and Ted discuss the 49ers game, and try to find any good in what was an abysmal showing by the first team units. From there, they reflected on the one year anniversary of Teddy Bridgewater's knee injury, and recall the episode they recorded thday that happened. They also talked some fantasy football, and gave you one 'must draft' player for the Vikings, and one 'must not draft' player as well. Finally, they wrapped up the show with listener questions.

Di an Ted are back with a new episode. In it, they discuss: The Seahawks game, and whether or not the Vikes got better, some depth chart battles that look like they've been decided, and the level of concern we have towards the team. From there, it was the possible cost of Sam Bradford being franchised, and a discussion regarding the widening National Anthem protests. Then, they discussed the 49ers game, what they're looking for, and wrapped the show up with listener questions.

Ted and Di are back full time for the 2017 Vikings season, and it's time to talk the Bills game. They go over the performance of both the offense and defense, and pick a player of the game from each side of the ball. Then it's on to a discussion of why former players are taking shots at the team, and how worried we should be about all those nagging injuries key players seem to have. Finally they do a quick dive into the upcoming Seahawks game, and wrap the show up with listener questions.

Ted and Di are back after a bit of a hiatus to discuss, among other things: Michael Floyd and Kombucha Tea...KOMBUCHA From there, it's a review of free agency. Did the Vikings do what they needed, and who their favorite free agent pick up was. From there, it was draft review. They discuss whether or not the Vikings addressed all they needed to address between free agency and the draft, and who their favorite player was the team drafted. From there, it was a minicamp/OTA review, and training camp preview. Solid talk about Laquon Treadwell, the secondary, the offensive line, the running back depth, and one breakout star on offense and defense. Finally, what would a Vikings podcast be without a Teddy vs. Sam segment? We ended the show, as always, with listener questions.

Di and Ted are back with a new episode, discussing the first two weeks of free agency.  They look at the players signed, and discuss all the new faces. They look at the players lost, and whether or not they'll be big losses. They also discuss when Dad's say things, and where Adrian Peterson why Adrian Peterson still isn't signed, and where he might end up. Finally, they wrap the show as they always do by Di telling Ted he's wrong. Wait, I mean with listener questions.

Di and Ted are back with a new episode, and they welcome in Yinka Ayinde, a Vikings expert from Cold Omaha, Vikings Prime, and RSEN. In this episode, Ted, Di, and Yinka discuss the Chad Greenway retirement, impending free agency, which in house free agents the Vikings keep (with a long discussion on Adrian Peterson), some highlights from the NFL Combine, and what the Vikings draft strategy should be with no first round pick, but extra picks in the third and fourth rounds.  

Ted and Di return, after a 2016 Vikings season that beat the fun out of both of them. They review the good, the bad, and the ugly of the season, and somehow get into a discussion of what would happen to Di's husband if he ever forgot her birthday, which happens to fall on Valentine's Day. From there, it was a discussion of Adrian Peterson, his contract, a possible return to Minnesota, and what his legacy will be. From there, it's time to talk free agency. It's not an in-depth discussion of individual players, but more a look at the Vikings biggest needs, and what will constitute a successful free agency. Finally, they wrap up the show with listener questions.

Di and Ted welcome in special guest Matt Krier, formerly of NFC North Barroom, and currently he covers college football for The Winona Post. On this episode, Di, Ted, and Matt try to avoid discussing the debacle that is the Minnesota Vikings as much as possible, so they review the Minnesota Gophers football scandal, and then discuss the decision of college players opting out of their team's bowl game to prepare for the NFL Draft. From there, try as they might, a discussion of the Vikings ensues. They ask several questions, most notably: was this the worst loss in the Mike Zimmer era, and has this season broken Mike Zimmer? From there, they move on to the Packers preview, and what might be the least excited Packers Week we've had in quite a long time. Finally, they wrap up the show by answering listener questions.

Ted and Di are back aith another episode. In this show, they discuss the Vikings 2017 game in London, the NFL's decision to change breast Cancer Awareness Month to Cancer Awareness, and the Shariff Floyd and Adrian Peterson injuries. From there, they moved on to a review of the Jaguars game, which was closer than it should have been, but a win is a win. It was good to see the explosive plays return, but the red zone offense was still an issue. Kai Forbath was pretty good, too. From there, it's a Colts preview, and we begin by deciding the Civil War General Luck meme needs to die, painfully. From there, Di and Ted give you the keys to the game, and score predictions. Finally, they wrap up the show with listener questions, and answer why eggnog is the absolute worst holiday drink ever. Ever.

In this week's episode, we discuss head coach Mike Zimmer's health, eye patches, and whether or not talking like a pirate is cool (it is way cool). They also talk Shariff Floyd and Laquon Treadwell and the news involving them this past week. From there, they review the Cowboys game, to include the Adam Thielen social media backlash after his fumble, the non-call on the two point conversion, Brian Robison's post game comments about the referees, and we then discuss NFL officiating in general. From there, we discuss two things that are equally bad, Jacksonville's uniforms and quarterback. We discuss the game, and make our usual game predictions. Finally, we wrap the show up by taking listener questions, and do an overview of the remaining four games, and assess playoff chances.

Ted an Di look at the Thanksgiving loss, playoff implications, and the Cowboys coming to town. We also take listener questions.

It's out inaugural Thanksgiving extravaganza, with a cornucopia of Thanksgiving food...discussion. We rank order side dishes, and agree that it's turkey on Thanksgiving, or you're basically a commie. We then discuss the good, the bad, and the offensive line of the Vikings win over the Cardinals, and how the game turned on three plays. We go in depth on some impressive Cordarrelle Patterson stats, and pretty much decide we're out of ideas on the offensive line. From there, we're on to Detroit, and we discuss why this time, it'll be different and why the Vikings will win.

Another game, another loss. This time, Ted and Di go over the loss to the Washington Redskins. They also take a look at the injuries that are piling up like a multi-car wreck on the highway, and discuss the ramifications of the Vikings releasing kicker Blair Walsh.
