This is Latin for “to God alone be the glory”. This was a battle cry of the reformation. All creation exists to bring God glory, and while some now resist and even refuse, the day will come when their resistance will be shattered and every tongue will give God glory!

We are in a series called “The 5 Solas”, five statements of fundamental truth that guard all Christian theology. “Sola” is Latin for “alone”. The 5 Solas are Scripture Alone, Christ Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone and to the Glory of God Alone. Every false doctrine that has infiltrated the church in two millennia springs from abandoning these truths. These 5 Solas are at the heart of everything we embrace as believers. Today Pastor David Walt considers the fourth truth - Sola Fide - Faith Alone. We’re saved by placing our faith in God’s love shown by Jesus on the cross. We’re made righteous by trusting him. Martin Luther said justification by faith alone is “the article upon which the church stands or falls”!
