The Bible is an announcement of God’s determination to save the world through Jesus. We’ve been looking at 15 hymns from the book of Psalms (120-134), originally sung by Jewish worshippers on their pilgrimage to God’s Temple in Jerusalem. They are called “Songs of Ascent” since they speak of ascending to the Temple, which was located atop Mount Zion in Jerusalem. Though they were originally for the Hebrews on their long journey, they matter a lot to us, because we too are traveling, by faith, as believers in Christ Jesus.
