This week we speak about the central issue to the Christian faith, The Resurrection. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:12-17 that if the resurrection is not true, then our faith is worthless, but if the resurrection really happened, then that changes everything!

Everyone has a feeling that this world is broken, that it is not the way it is supposed to be. Christianity says that this is as a result of sin and that God has provided an answer to that problem. But what about the claim of other religions? What makes christianity unique and different? This week we will talk about sin and what makes the gospel different from religion.

This has been a heated debate in our culture for over 50 years, with loud voices on both sides. Can you be a scientist and still believe in God? Does evolution disprove the bible? What about miracles? As we look at these questions, we will see that science and religion shouldn’t be at war with each other, but that science can actually point us to a deeper understanding of who God.

We start our series asking the question, “how can you believe when the church is responsible for so much injustice?” We are excited to hear from Dr. Mark Farnham, Professor of Apologetics at Lancaster Bible College. Dr Farnham has been teaching Apologetics in local churches for the last ten years, and you can find out more about him and his ministry at apologeticsforthechurch.org.

God promised us something so much better then “prosperity”.

This week we were looking at Philippians 4:13, "I can do all tings through Christ who gives me strength". We often quote this before a big test or sports game, but Paul isn't saying that we can achieve all our dreams with Jesus on our side. Paul is instead looking back on hard times in his life and realizes that he can be content in every circumstances, but by our relationship with God

True discipleship is based on obedience and relationship. There are those who think they are true disciples but are counterfeits who will face destruction.

This Sunday we are celebrating our GO Weekend, and how God allowed our groups to serve together! We will be challenged by Galatians 6:7-10, to not give up or grow weary of doing good!

We often think that we need to start by sharing the gospel, but there are often several steps in someones journey before they are ready to receive it. We are going to learn to ask good questions, hear peoples stories and then share our story, as 1 Peter 3:15 says, we should “always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you”.

God sent Jesus into our world and we have been sent to tell the world of this great God. This week we will talk through the gospel and how can we practically share it with those around us.

This is our last week studying the Minor Prophets and we end with the last book of the Old Testament, Malachi. Malachi is an honest dialogue between God and his people, a people who don’t always feel that God is near to them.

Obadiah is the shortest book in the Old Testament, and deals with issues we can all relate to: pride, bullying and sibling rivalry. Obadiah warns us to not think so highly of ourselves, that we should be looking to serve others and not only be concerned with our own lives. We can have a hope for a future when God will bring down the proud, lift up the downtrodden and fulfill his promise to bring justice and mercy to the world.

Haggai wrote to encourage and challenge the Israelites who returned from the exile in Babylon to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. This week we will see the importance of obedience, that our choices really matter! God wants us to obey him from a pure heart, in humility and action.

This week we start by looking at Hosea, an incredible story of how God uses a broken relationship, adultery and redemptive love to show his unconditional love for us. We will see God’s response to sin and idolatry, that though we are not always faithful to God, God is always faithful to us.

Worship isn’t just something we do on Sunday mornings, it is central to who we are and how God made us! We had the privilege of hearing from Tyler Noel, our student worship director and Dave Ross, about what real worship looks like. This week we discuss what worship is and why it is so important for us to worship God in Spirit and Truth. We want to be people who don’t just sing worship songs, but worship God with our whole lives!

1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 If you are alive in this world, you will be tempted with sexual sin, and without a plan, we will fail. Sexual purity is a collection of tiny decisions made every day and we want to help students make the right decisions, with the right motivation, to stay pure.

This week we want to talk about God’s original design for sexuality and how sin has distorted and deprived it. God gave us our bodies to glorify him and serve others, not for our own selfish pleasure.

This week we hear from Christie Heimbach, one of the founders of 2 Seconds Or Less (2 SOL), a non profit that helps end the cycle of poverty in Zimbabwe. As a college student, she came across this startling truth, “Approximately every two seconds, someone in the world dies of malnutrition.” 2 SOL was born out of a need to make a difference in the world, to see how she can be a part of meeting peoples needs and showing them the love of Jesus.
