Dear Nana: Advice From An Idiot

Shane Torres joins Nana this week to discuss Irene's "podcast voice" crushes, and Shane basically takes over the podcast and starts asking Nana very personal questions.  My apologies for the delay with how late I am in uploading this episode, I fell asleep Sunday night, hit the snooze by accident Monday morning and while technically it's 3:00 am on Tuesday it's still Monday for me but I still feel bad. Like I'm late for picking up my kids from school. My apologies little ones, Nana loves you. 

Kippy Bonus Ep! WE originally recorded two weeks ago in the park but the Zoom6 recorder died halfway through our conversation and the file was lost. This recording is the second part of that conversation, once I bought new batteries and went to the bathroom and we tried to pick up where we left off. I'm still not sure if anyone reads these but! Liz Heather was the first person to read my screenplay and was so nice and tender and wonderful about it, I'll never forget it. She's also one of the best hangs and I love our standing monthly dates. She selflessly indulges me because I don't have a boyfriend so together we check out cute (mostly Mexican) places to eat in the city. Maybe the next time she's on we'll rate our favorites. Jason Loughlin joins Irene as her fourth guest on Dear Nana: Advice From An Idiot. I’m going to stop counting the guests after this one, you guys get how order and dates work. Irene and Jason met about three years ago in New York City and have been friends ever since. Jason is a professional musician and in this episode he breaks down just how a song gets airplay and tells the story of how a tough teacher became a lifelong friend along with some tangents and rants in between. They recorded this episode just after Jason gave Irene her first guitar lesson. He was very nice and patient with her. It's weird to go from third person to first back to third. Ashley Brooke Roberts joins Irene as her third guest on Dear Nana: Advice From An Idiot. Ashley is one of Irene’s dear friends who she initially admired from afar and now that they are friends she continues to pinch herself to remind her of her good luck. Ashley is a stand up comedian, writer and actress and her Irene discuss what it’s like to figure yourself out as an artist in New York City as well as when to surrender or walk away from advice. 

Becky Scott joins Irene as her second guest on Dear Nana: Advice From An Idiot. Becky wrote and co-directed the comedy/thriller “Asking For It” which is currently in post-production and should be released Fall 2019. They talk about needing funding for the film in this episode but they got it! WOOOO!!! And now the film is being edited. Becky and Irene also talk Big Magic, the audition process and what it’s like to be an artist in New York City. 

Kevin Ryan joins Irene as her first guest and producer of Dear Nana: Advice From An Idiot as he has been the only one to get through to Nana in regards to actually launching a solo podcast. Kevin Ryan is a comedian in New York City and you can hear him on Sirius XM as well as this episode as he laughs at Nana the whole way through.
