What happens when we run from ourselves? What are the consequences of running from ourselves, and how to stop this pattern?  As I reflected on this topic in my life, I also got to think of it in my previous position as clinical director of substance abuse centers; I had counselors that worked for me who kept running from themselves. Unfortunately, when you are running from yourself, knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously, the people you work with can only go so far. In the same way, coaches, healers, or helpers also tend to run away from their feelings knowingly and unknowingly. There is a ceiling there because you can't walk someone into a place you've never been as far as awareness goes.
