It is distressing—disorienting, really—to watch the former party of law and order flip the script and attack the FBI, DOJ, and the law enforcement establishment, all on extremely weak and totally political grounds. The Former Guy cries witch hunt, and previously respectable Republicans pick up the pitch forks and torches. Moreover, they have tried in the most undemocratic ways to tilt the playing field to the advantage of their fever dream culture wars, leaving rational thought in their wake.
