Synopsis
About once a week Im going to be producing a podcast for everyone. Just to give you a little more about me personally Ill fill you in on a few things about me so we can become a little more familiar with each other. I grew up in a small town in ND, yes the cold north is no joke! Throughout my life experience Ive become more understanding of things I was to nieve to see when I was younger. So basically grew up in a decent size house that my parents couldnt afford. My mother was a single parent before she meant my step dad and he was living in the house with a buddy of his. Well his buddy started dating my moms girlfriend and before you know it we had a house full of busy bodies. I was just an adolescent kid who was to busy chasing girls and trying to be like Eminem to really understand the situation. The other couple that lived there moved out and that put the burden of the house payments on my mom n step dad. Like most Americans they didnt budget money very well and ended up selling the house and we moved into a more smaller town home in city limits. Now you can understand my living situation now I can give you a little insight into the mind of a me as a high school kid. Played Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track so my free time was pretty much filled with sports which was a good way great for a kid with a lot of built up energy. We would go to my friend lake cabins in the summer in between playing legion baseball and enjoy good friends and laughs. School nights were simple wed drive around the small town and pull mainers nothing too exciting. Okay back to the sports aspect of things since thats what the focus of the podcast is. Played basketball until freshmen year I was a starter on the court, I recall one day for the traveling team we had enough kids to split us into two teams. So the coaches picked the A team of players and a B team there was one other post player who was extremely tall for our age, I was probably the next tallest. When I was finally picked as one of the last kids which in my head it was a no brainer that I was better than the tall kid but the coaches never like my fade away shots. They would scream bloody murder at me when I did a turn around nasty Kobe type juke fade and they all said I was a show boat. They didnt know the long hours I practiced that move long nights in my driveway going over the motions repeatedly. They really didnt have a choice even if I never listen to them there other options we're poor so they were stuck with pulling there hair out watching me play. There job was to coach us into young men they took it a step to far they were clearly judging me because who I hangout with and because I wasnt very good in there class. Ever since I was picked and shamed by putting me on B squad that wasnt even in my vocabulary so after practice they came up and said you can play with us when your not in the same tournament. I said Ill think about it, one of my buddies talked me into playing full time for them and he was right if they wanted me they would picked me but they wanted to punish me by putting me with guys that could barely dribble the ball. After that day I had a chip on my shoulder to show out and show these old guys Im not there little puppet. I had shaggy hair and they didnt like that either so before the season started I cut my hair, and the varsity head coach walked passed me when we were all doing free throws individually he just walks by and says lookin a little long time for a cut you think? Shortley after I got into a heated fight with the freshmen coach and walked off the court mid-pactice never played basketball again. That same was the coach for our traveling basketball team to this day that coaches son who played basketball for his dad his whole life was never allowed to have anything but a buzz cut no his hair is down to his shoulders. Now to football, me and my team were undefeated our 8th grade season. This was a very unique accomplishment for a bunch of kids we had a great coach who embraced our wild side and lead us to and unbeaten season because he knew I was a show off but he knew I could score. This coach was not as high up on the higharcy of the other high school coaches so he didn't have the ego as them. Our quarterback was my one of my best friend because we had a mutual resect for each other he could put a spiral on a slant on me like no one. We practice route a lot and guys almost needed to know the play before it happened to stop it. He was on the A basketball team he even played Freshmen basketball when we we're in 8th grade with the coaches son. After the first week of practice we do endurance which is running us until we wanna quite but I had and iron lung I could run all day long finished with the first tear. At the end of our hell week, when they brought the pads out everyone knew we had big heads from going undefeated so one of our coaches addressed this day one. Some things are hard to explain but when they lined our starting offense against the starting varsity it showed me what it took to take on a grown man when I growing into my shoes. I got smashe
