Synopsis

About once a week Im going to be producing a podcast for everyone. Just to give you a little more about me personally Ill fill you in on a few things about me so we can become a little more familiar with each other. I grew up in a small town in ND, yes the cold north is no joke! Throughout my life experience Ive become more understanding of things I was to nieve to see when I was younger. So basically grew up in a decent size house that my parents couldnt afford. My mother was a single parent before she meant my step dad and he was living in the house with a buddy of his. Well his buddy started dating my moms girlfriend and before you know it we had a house full of busy bodies. I was just an adolescent kid who was to busy chasing girls and trying to be like Eminem to really understand the situation. The other couple that lived there moved out and that put the burden of the house payments on my mom n step dad. Like most Americans they didnt budget money very well and ended up selling the house and we moved into a more smaller town home in city limits. Now you can understand my living situation now I can give you a little insight into the mind of a me as a high school kid. Played Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track so my free time was pretty much filled with sports which was a good way great for a kid with a lot of built up energy. We would go to my friend lake cabins in the summer in between playing legion baseball and enjoy good friends and laughs. School nights were simple wed drive around the small town and pull mainers nothing too exciting. Okay back to the sports aspect of things since thats what the focus of the podcast is. Played basketball until freshmen year I was a starter on the court, I recall one day for the traveling team we had enough kids to split us into two teams. So the coaches picked the A team of players and a B team there was one other post player who was extremely tall for our age, I was probably the next tallest. When I was finally picked as one of the last kids which in my head it was a no brainer that I was better than the tall kid but the coaches never like my fade away shots. They would scream bloody murder at me when I did a turn around nasty Kobe type juke fade and they all said I was a show boat. They didnt know the long hours I practiced that move long nights in my driveway going over the motions repeatedly. They really didnt have a choice even if I never listen to them there other options we're poor so they were stuck with pulling there hair out watching me play. There job was to coach us into young men they took it a step to far they were clearly judging me because who I hangout with and because I wasnt very good in there class. Ever since I was picked and shamed by putting me on B squad that wasnt even in my vocabulary so after practice they came up and said you can play with us when your not in the same tournament. I said Ill think about it, one of my buddies talked me into playing full time for them and he was right if they wanted me they would picked me but they wanted to punish me by putting me with guys that could barely dribble the ball. After that day I had a chip on my shoulder to show out and show these old guys Im not there little puppet. I had shaggy hair and they didnt like that either so before the season started I cut my hair, and the varsity head coach walked passed me when we were all doing free throws individually he just walks by and says lookin a little long time for a cut you think? Shortley after I got into a heated fight with the freshmen coach and walked off the court mid-pactice never played basketball again. That same was the coach for our traveling basketball team to this day that coaches son who played basketball for his dad his whole life was never allowed to have anything but a buzz cut no his hair is down to his shoulders. Now to football, me and my team were undefeated our 8th grade season. This was a very unique accomplishment for a bunch of kids we had a great coach who embraced our wild side and lead us to and unbeaten season because he knew I was a show off but he knew I could score. This coach was not as high up on the higharcy of the other high school coaches so he didn't have the ego as them. Our quarterback was my one of my best friend because we had a mutual resect for each other he could put a spiral on a slant on me like no one. We practice route a lot and guys almost needed to know the play before it happened to stop it. He was on the A basketball team he even played Freshmen basketball when we we're in 8th grade with the coaches son. After the first week of practice we do endurance which is running us until we wanna quite but I had and iron lung I could run all day long finished with the first tear. At the end of our hell week, when they brought the pads out everyone knew we had big heads from going undefeated so one of our coaches addressed this day one. Some things are hard to explain but when they lined our starting offense against the starting varsity it showed me what it took to take on a grown man when I growing into my shoes. I got smashed at the line by a guy that had seen guys like me and just laughed at how easy it was for him to shut me down. We ran our signature play slants! The outcome was a lesson to drive us to work harder and realize what it takes to beat the best at this level. I never made varsity my freshmen year so I played JV, the day of our first game our head coach passed me in the hall it just happen we were the only people in the hallway. I just did my normal nod hey, he stopped looked me in the eyes and said if you wanna play on my team you need to cut out that showboating. I was caught off guard complelty so I froze and when he was done lecturing me on how to play and extra curricular activity I went back to class. That night during the game the JV coach who is now the head coach seen my skill he said were running Joe fade! A play designed specifically for me to just run deep as fast as I could we ran it, my quarterback over threw me. The coach looked at the assistant coach and said run it again! the next play I realized someone believe in me no matter the rumors of me being too into myself. I ran that play harder and faster than I had ever before, made my move hit full speed look up the ball was in the air. Now was the time to make my move on the ball eye it up jump was high was I could and bring in a touchdown for 6. Instantly I started doing the young jock dace off the song Its Going Down I had laid up all night in my bed visulising the move the play the score couldnt sleep kept replaying everything. With that being said, I also remember a triangle tournament in middle school I played outside linebacker I crushed a guy in the backfield this halfback was running on us so I nailed him. I just remember looking into his eyes before I put the fear in his heart and laid him down I stood up out of impulse I just put both my arms up like whos wants it next im out here laying the hammer on guys who else wants some. I got flagged and I looked over and the head coach was standing there arms crossed with the look of anger and rage on his face. There was another time in a Valley City football camp we went through a week of running plays and scrimmaging other teams. One day we scrimmage a team that seem to come off as something I didnt like so rocked there running back on the side line. Other guys later told me they could hear the sounds he made after, and I was the sound of pain and fear. Thats what I loved about the game the most the same camp I was running for a deep pass, snatched it on a defender in the end zone then flicked the ball of his head. The art of completion is more of an animal instinct that some people have and others dont its a kind of dance of skill and strength. You go through a lot of emotions as a kid growing up with no father figure so the world was my target and though sports I could express my built up aggression and for those coaches who tried to mold me into what their fathers did to them is sick. When im around kids now and Ive coached my sisters 5th grade basketball team, you can see the variations of talent and skill. Well skill is earned through practice and hard work a lot of coaches now a day have a pre conceived judgement of people before they even step on the court or field. These people destroy talent by trying to control and manage them. There job is not to mold kids into what they think is what a kid needs they are literally just their to organize the kids and help them get better thats it. When the personally stuff starts to get to deep youve lost what youve set our to do now your not doing things out of love and good will your doing it out of spite thats evil. People dont see it from a far but I seen it first hand, so when I coach kids now I encourage that enthusiasm and I promote there good traits and elaburate on how that move or certain skill can be useful in situations and its proven to work. I coached my sister 5th grade team okay through about 4 or 5 tournaments I only went to one which is the only tournament they placed in they came in second. A girl who was the best shooter on the team was shy and nervous, I told her to go out there and let it fly if your open. Thats literally all I said before the game she hit a outside shot probably equivalent to a free throw when the other kids could barely make a layup. The look on her face after she made it was price less and she looked and me like she had nothing to do with that shot going in. I told her see what your capable of when your have confidence and believe in yourself. Confidence come from knowing what your capable of because you put in the time and hard work to achieve theres things they dont just happen out of luck. Now you kinda have a better understanding of who I am and what Im about I hope everyone has a great day and passes that positive vibe to others.

Thanks enjoy,
