Habeas Humor

(Part 1 of 2) This episode explores immigration issues with a focus on labor and the potential for exploitation and abuse. We will discuss real life situations portrayed on reality television, including the hit TLC series 90 Day Fiance, as well as My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding, and The Jerry Springer Show. Primary focus will be on the situation of Russian immigrant Julia, who lives with her fiance, Brandon, as well as his parents (Julia’s de facto employers), Betty and Ron.
