The Supreme Court blocked the Biden administration's Covid-related eviction moratorium on Thursday, 8/26/21 (apologies for the references in the video to “today’s” Supreme Court decision - it took me longer to finish this than I hoped).  Also, Thought Slime is non-binary, which I forgot at the time of recording, and I reflexively used he/him pronouns. I believe I once heard Thought Slime say they don’t mind he/him pronouns, so hopefully not too much offense is taken. June 25 is the scheduled sentencing hearing for Derek Chauvin, the police officer who was convicted in a Minnesota court of the murder of George Floyd. The prosecution is seeking a 30 year sentence, and the defense is seeking probation. In this video, a real lawyer explains why the overwhelming likelihood is that Chauvin will be sentenced to serve between 15 and 20 years in prison. This is the first of Habeas Humor's "Chauvin Chunks" miniseries. Please note: federal charges are also pending against Derek Chauvin for both the George Floyd killing and a prior incident of alleged police brutality.
