Anything can be a death defying stunt until something goes wrong but that hasn’t stopped people for hundreds of years of making spectacles of doing what seems impossible. This week on Chubstep Steed and Jrad start with why Steed’s apartment smells like fish, almost getting pulled into the water deep sea fishing in Miami, getting kicked out of the exit row on a plane, a walking stereotype, and Steed breaking into a construction site causing light pollution before getting to the main topic, daredevils. For ol’ times sake Jrad and Steed welcome back television aficionado Lil’ Stevie to discuss the best TV shows of 2024 and 2025 on this week’s Chubstep. The guys start with Steed not allowing any criticism of the Buffalo Bills and his favorite show of 2025 which is 15 years old before getting to the ranking. In 2024 the guys go over shows like Hacks, Somebody Somewhere, The Penguin, Ripley and Shogun. In 2025 the guys go over shows like Studio, The Rehearsal, Gilded Age with the Carrie Coon fan club, Adolescence, and Andor. Finally the guys talk about how to balance great shows when some are shorter vs have more seasons that trail off.   

Who are the strongest men (and women) in the world? How about of all time? This week Steed and Jrad cover everything from mass monsters, controversies, and the true origins of the keg toss when it comes to strong men and women. The guys start with a potential new 3rd host, a pie eating contest and almost drowning on the river. This week’s Chubstep starts with the guy recently losing bets on the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest before getting into the improbable world of chewing gum. In this week’s Chubstep Strikes! Strikes in bowling? Strikes in baseball? Kind of, it’s the kind where someone is so mad at their job that they create a chant and signs until the bosses become nice. But before Steed and Jrad get to strikes the talk about how rich they are from advertising revenue, Steed getting stared at during a play, and Jrad’s ideally celebrity entourage. For the main segment the guys discuss the first recorded strike, when striking got deadly, buying a scabby rat, the most ridiculous picket sign, professional scabs, bad strike chants, a failed strike, and Ben Affleck striking or not.

Since the beginning of time people have appreciated one thing…Gambling, and these Chubsteppers are no different. This week Steed and J-rad start with the worst kind of people that play music loud in public settings, and the Pope’s relation to a crazy mayor before getting to the world of gambling. The guys discuss betting in the days of Jesus, America’s original funding coming from gambling, 21 vs blackjack, the largest bets in history, a large ping pong bet involving Coke bottles from Amarillo Slim, Ben Affleck card counting in Las Vegas, betting on obscure items, celebrities and betting, and why you’re not actually addicted to gambling.

Next the guys break it down, idiom by idiom, starting with the sayings that have gone the way of the dodo and which they wish would come back before getting to the meaning of common idioms, some Swahili in ‘Tanzania News’, and presidential saying that stuck with em, whether that be good or bad.

Pope Leo XIV is in power so Steed and Jrad decided to do a pivot and talk all things pope in this week’s Chubstep. The guys start with Jrad finally understanding Chappell Roan before getting to the first pope, the crazy ways pope’s have been killed, a ‘Chubsitory’ on their countries of origins and names including 3 african popes and 13 Pope Innocents, the background on the first American Pope Leo XIV including his new Chicago policies, conspiracies and controversies around him. As Jrad approaches a record number of weddings attended, Chubstep decides to take on this topic from all angles. First Steed and Jrad discuss Steed’s close resemblance to Li Shang from “Mulan”, that most of the US is desolate, cities that suck, Jrad’s trip to the catskills/upstate New York for a wedding. Ever wondered what the biggest things in the world are? Steed and Jrad have you covered in this week’s episode of Chubstep. The guys start with them going to a wedding in Malibu, drinking no water for 3 days straight, climbing a 30’ rope in Santa Monica, and not letting someone sleep on an airplane because they reclined. All of that before getting to the world’s biggest mountain, roadside world’s largest attractions, Illinois having the most world’s largest items, biggest dinosaur, the largest living animal, biggest organism, largest crime organization, biggest tree/plant, the largest statue you’ve never heard of and how it ties to Ben Affleck, the man with the largest genitalia, and the most amount of money ever stolen at one time.
