But right now there are even fewer cars on the market that have a manual transmission -- only 25 models this year versus 32 last year. What's killing the manuals? Utah State University's Brian Champagne explained and offered some ideas on how they might live on.

    Major cuts to public broadcasting are moving closer to a reality after Vice President JD Vance had to cast a tie-breaking procedural vote on a rescissions package late last night. The package would gut funding to public broadcasters like PBS and NPR, both of whom have spoken out against the proposal. They're defending the value of public broadcasting while also pushing back on accusations of bias. Dr. Dale Cressman, professor emeritus at the School of Communications at Brigham Young University speaks with Maria Shilaos to share his take on the situation. Dr. Cressman is also a former journalist and was a former news director at both a public radio station and a public television station. 

  • Shuttle potentially coming to Millcreek Canyon

    The Central Wasatch Commission is looking at the feasibility of implementing a shuttle system to take folks up Millcreek Canyon. While the plan is still in its infancy, Millcreek Mayor and board chair for the CWC Jeff Silvestrini tells Maria Shilaos that a shuttle system would go a long way in helping the crowds that recreate in the canyon.

Search and rescue/recovery crews continue their search but now, it's a search for bodies. How do search efforts change when it moves from rescue to recovery?
