You may have heard about the Spotted Lanternfly, an invasive pest that showed up in Pennsylvania in 2014. For those of you in the industry the IGC Show in the Chicago was the biggest event for garden center owners to learn about what's new. With the show's closure in 2020, there was still a need for an event specific for IGC owners and so the Garden Center Conference Conference and Expo was formed. In case you missed it, Kore Infrastructure located in Los Angeles, CA has developed a closed-loop system to convert organic waste in to fuel for cars with zero emissions. In the process of creating this fuel, the residual of the waste becomes biochar that has been proven useful in agriculture and landscaping to reduce the amount of water needed.
