Belinda West speaks about achieving her dream of winning Best In Show at Sydney Royal 2019 with her Australian Shepherd named Rock - Am. Hk Gr Ch. Sup Ch. Impacts Pop Rocks. Rock is the first of his breed to win the prestigious show who was also #1 All Breeds in QLD and runner up Top Dog in 2018. Belinda gave us great insight to the emotions she felt winning BIS and also has great advice for young handlers looking to fulfill their dog show dream, as Belinda did when winning BIS at Sydney Royal.

Dee Hamilton recently won the title of World Champion at the International Junior Handler Competition hosted at Crufts. We had such a fun chat and Dee gives us a wonderful insight a detailed insight to her win, behind the scenes & handling tips. Dee's tips are not just just for junior handlers, but advice us adults can take on board too. You could not find a more mature, well adjusted 18 year old & it was a privilege to have this discussion. Having grown up and been educated in the west, but being an Asian at heart and living in Asia, Gopi offers a unique perspective of why he openly supports WDS 2019 in Shanghai, despite so much opposition. Wayne Burton's induction into the dog world was in 1968 when he was introduced to the Afghan Hound, which he bred and exhibited with some success under the ISHRAHM prefix, making up seven champions and in 1972 having the number one ranked Afghan Hound in NSW. He has owned, bred and exhibited successfully Afghans, Shih Tzu, Scottish Terriers, Whippets, Salukis and Poodles (three varieties), but primarily Standards. As a handler he has also been involved with the Bichon Frise, Basset Hounds and Griffon Bruxellois. Wayne commenced judging in 1978 with Hounds and attained All Breeds status in 1991. He has judged extensively throughout Australia at Breed Specialties and All Breeds shows. Internationally he has judged in the USA, New Zealand, Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Switzerland. He is Past President of The Afghan Hound Club, The Whippet Club and is currently Secretary of the Sighthound Association and Dalwood All Breed Dog Show committee. We are honoured to introduce our latest podcast with Wendye Slatyer of Calahorra Afghan Hounds. Wendye and her late husband Stuart started with Afghans in 1962 and Calahorra is one of Australia’s oldest, active prefixes. Calahorra is the only kennel in Australia of any breed to produce 3 Sydney Royal Best In Show winners (and also two Brisbane Royal Best in Show winners).Wendye takes us on a journey in to the 60s – 80s history of the Afghan Hound in Australia and describes the breed in such wonderful detail, a highlight being her description of the Afghan Hound spring, a hallmark of the breed. Wendye also talks about Afghan Hound specialties with 500-600 entries, traveling the country to big shows in the good old days, importing dogs in the 60s and 70s and the first frozen semen litter in the world, plus the importance of some of the founding Afghan Hound kennels.Wendye even describes the first time a grooming brush and bait were allowed to be taken in to the ring by exhibitors.We feel this podcast is a must

Penny shares her phenomenal story about the greatest winning Puli of all time, Preston - Am Silver Gr Ch / Aust Sup Ch Cordmaker Mister Blue Sky. This is a wonderful insight in to the world famous Cordmaker kennel and the fabulous journey of Preston as he goes on to become #1 show dog in both America and Australia. Penny also shares the story of how she came to meet the immortal Sue Huebner and later become a co-owner in the Cordmaker prefix. Penny’s recount of BIS at Sydney Royal is just amazing! We are so thankful to Penny for sharing her story and we are sure you will love it!

Bill has done it all in the dog show world as a professional handler, having won BIS Westminster & handled dogs to #1 show dog in America on multiple occasions. Bill also had one of our favourite dogs of all time Kerry Blue Terrier, Multi Ch. Torums Scarf Michael ‘Mick’, bred by Ron & Carol Ramsey  A true gentleman, who is passionate about mentoring new people in the hobby. We are very thankful to Bill for sharing his story with us all.
