  • An open letter to Jerry Falwell on the future of Liberty University

    16/08/2020 Duration: 09min

About ten days ago, the board of trustees at Liberty University requested Jerry Falwell, Jr take an indefinite leave of absence. The decisions the board has made since Jerry has been on leave have made it fairly obvious there will be no long term change in the leadership of the University. With that in mind, and knowing Jerry will likely be back in his role within the next few weeks or months, I wanted to write an open letter to him on what I hope he can do with the future of the school I love. 03/08/2020 Duration: 08min

Waiting sucks. It’s not any fun at all. We have this idea of something that is coming - something we know we’re going to be a part of we believe is going to be great - but it’s not time yet. So what do we do? How do we not lose hope in the waiting? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • The single biggest thing missing from American Christianity

    27/07/2020 Duration: 11min

When society say you deserve whatever you want, whenever you want, and however you want it, it’s hard not to believe that’s the case. We get conditioned to believe this is the truth. But Jesus teaches something different, and it's the single biggest thing missing from American Christianity today. • Blindposts, flashlights, and doing hard things

    20/07/2020 Duration: 09min

Blindspots lay in the background and continue to grow and grow and grow until they suffocate the light. To get rid of them, we need a friend with a flashlight who can sit with us and shine a light on those dark places. It’s time to stop letting the darkness win and start getting to the fullness of who we were created to be. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Jesus said he came to give us life and life abundantly but instead we're stuck in mediocrely mundane lives because we've made following him much harder than it really has to be. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • Sometimes I don't believe the songs we sing in church

    10/06/2019 Duration: 33min

If I'm honest, there are times when I'm standing in church and don't believe the words we're singing. Is that okay? Am I lying if I keep singing them even when I don't believe them? This week we talk about what to do when we don't agree with the words on the screen. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • The unsexy side of following Jesus

    06/05/2019 Duration: 29min

One of the things we romanticize in the Christian world is following wherever God leads you. But what we don't talk about is that following Jesus anywhere is really freaking scary. It often leads to loneliness, doubt, and a lot of suck. So is it even worth it to say yes to what Jesus invites us to? See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

    29/04/2019 Duration: 37min

Our minds create toxic environments that trick us into believing things that aren't true. While our emotions and feelings are completely real, the way we interpret them may not be healthy or even correct. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

  • My baggage makes it hard to follow Jesus

    22/04/2019 Duration: 28min

It was a lot easier to follow Jesus when we were kids. As adults, we lose the child like faith we once had and are now held back by the baggage we've gained growing up. Whether it's misunderstanding what we thought God was inviting us to do or recovering from being hurt by fellow Christians, being a Christian as an adult is a lot harder than it was when we were kids.
