    Looking back at 2008 we see unprecedented events. More and more evidence points to the second coming of Christ. However, even though we are closer to the event with each passing day, beware of those who twist prophecy to fit their own beliefs or ideals, or those who take Jesus' parables out of context. The world IS a sinking ship, and the church needs to concentrate on throwing a lifeline to those who need Jesus. "Occupy until I come back." We need to learn from the previous year and recognize the need for the church to be a minister of hope. Also read all of Matthew 24.

Where there is a trial in your life, there is a blessing to follow, we just have to keep things in perspective. Being happy doesn't mean being oblivious to evil around us, it means that as Christians we have HOPE. Hope for an eternal life with Jesus. No matter what the world throws at us, we know that we win in the end. Also study: Philippians 1:21-26; Luke 12:15; Psalms 41:9.
