We can pray with joy because we serve a good and loving God!

As we close this sermon series on praying bravely, we come back to the purpose of prayer. Are we coming to God in prayer seeking to have all of our personal wishes granted in our timing? Or are we coming to God to be transformed? Brave prayers seek God’s presence more than instant answers.

Praying bravely means crying out to God in times of trouble, knowing the answers might not come in our time. We only experience the power and love of God when we take the Leap of Faith.

How long are we willing to wait in prayer to God? As long as it takes, or are there barriers that make it difficult to wait on God's time?

A successful prayer is one that focuses more on giving ourselves to God rather than on what we can get from God.

We are to Receive the Love of God and Then Pass on the Love of God to the Next Generation

Repentance means not just being sorry for our sins, but allow God to change our Heart so we no longer desire to sin.

In studying the people who influenced the life of King David, we begin with the prophet Samuel. Samuel was an obedient servant of God who took a risk in taking David under his wing, becoming not only a mentor but an intercessor for him before the Lord.

The Psalmist teaches us that seeking God's way for our lives is not something we only do when we are young - the main pursuit of our lives as Christians is encompassed in David's prayer from Psalm 25, "Show me your way, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long."
