Superintendent Dr. Ray Queener and special guest Mark Solberg, activities and athletics director, kick off a series of episodes featuring the district’s five character traits. Mark discusses his 36 years with Cambridge-Isanti Schools and shares insight on the importance of character and attitude in everyday life. Episode 7 of Bluejacket Connections - Superintendent Dr. Ray Queener and special guest Rima Silver, Isanti Primary School second grade teacher, discuss goal-setting, the significance of ‘why’ and The Bluejacket Way as it relates to Chase Mielke’s ultimate goal mindset. Mielke says this goal is to “help self, to help others to help others.” The way you live your life in all facets matters and getting to where you want to go takes purposeful intent. As Rima says, “There’s nothing wrong with starting over” to get there.

This episode features the everyday applications of task, relational and cognitive crafting which are a part of Chase Mielke’s job crafting mindset. It’s not just what you do, but why you do it. How you frame the work you do, how you interact with others, and how you approach your tasks is the difference between having a purpose that informs what you do,or, just having work to do. Welcome to the first ever podcast of Bluejacket Connections!! It is also my first podcast as well! In this episode, I introduced the podcast and purpose: “To provide staff with updates on district happenings, share insights on district book read including applications from staff, share good news and educational updates and happenings.” The podcast is broken into four segments: News, Happenings & Announcements; Main content; Bluejacket Update - Good News; and Final thoughts and comments.
