Recently I read Beyond the E-myth by Michael E. Gerber. If you haven't heard about this book yet you will. Almost all of Michael Gerber's books are big hits. His basic premise is that many people who hate their jobs, and their bosses, will often start their own business. Gerber often refers to this as "technicians having an entrepreneurial seizure." The point being that these new business owners don't have the management skills to actually run a business. And his entire series of E-Myth books, of which there are many, make this point in a number of ways.
