Summer is over kiddos! We drove to Houston to hang out with the Smith/Pate's and saw one of the most delightful movies of the year. The dynamic duo go to Asgaard, and then some other garbage planet where Jeff Golblum is in charge (I'd live there), and ultimately see Chris Hemsworth with his shirt off, and then we had to leave the theater as Krystle started cat-calling the screen, being very aggressive, leading to management asking us to exit the premises. We get scared watching Alien, the 1979 masterpiece by Ridley Scott that launched a phenomenal sequel, other meh sequels, and some okay "reboot" movies still going today. Krystle can't handle scary movies and basically spent the movie screaming in Michael's ear. The gruesome twosome went to Austin! We hung out with the lovely Bruce and Karen Perkins (Michael's Aunt and Uncle) to see and chat about this modern sci-fi masterpiece. Bruce saw the original Blade Runner six times in theaters, so he was excited to jump into this one. We saw Stronger with Jake Gyllenhall and Tatiana Maslany about the Boston Marathon bombing, and cried our way through the whole thing. A little non-spoiler recommendation at the beginning, but we get into spoilers pretty quick. Give it a listen!
