130: Tick Tock. What are you waiting for?
04/03/2020 Duration: 17minRecently I caught myself waiting for all the little ducks to line up and be in a row before I took action on something I wanted to do. I was letting myself stay stuck because of my inner chatter. I caught myself and got out of my' holding pattern'. Where in life or business do you recognise that you are currently waiting for conditions to be better/perfect before taking the next action? Who or what are YOU waiting for? To get back to you before you move ahead To submit that proposal To make that big decision To take that next step To start publishing those Facebook LIVEs? Often we can let the excuse that we're waiting on someone else be our excuse for not moving ahead or as a way to procrastinate. When we wait to get all our ducks in a ROW, we can put the breaks on our dreams. In this episode, I tell you how getting to action this one Sunday morning was about making the decisions for ME. I had to stop worrying about what anyone else was doing. This decision made all the difference to my mood. Thanks to thes

25/02/2020 Duration: 20minWe recently completed one of our biggest projects for the year, our annual Business Growth Summit for Women Entrepreneurs, a free online summit that brings together women from all over the world to learn from world-class speakers, bestselling authors and inspiring entrepreneurs. We had 4,500 women register for the summit and the feedback we’ve had has been phenomenal. Members LOVED all these lessons and they’ve started to put these to work in their business. While they all enjoyed the practical advice - many were more impacted by the confidence and understanding they felt when we dove into the inner game topics. In this episode of the HerBusiness podcast I share: Why the Inner Game of success is and why it matters Being clear on who you are FOR and who you are NOT for How sharing your values can draw your ideal clients to you What it means to create a business that is more like you How to courageously break the ice with your customers Here are some popular recent episodes: How to Bring More Inspiration in

128: How to Bring More Inspiration into Your Life and Business
08/01/2020 Duration: 20minIn her book Power Attractor, author Gabrielle Bernstein says: “Find what inspires you most and commit to doing more of it! When we bring energy to what inspires us, we connect to our Super Attractor power and the manifesting begins.” What she’s saying is that when we do what lights us up, what we love, we draw to us all manner of things that we dream of, in our business and in our life. Our tag-line at HerBusiness is: Do What You Love, Every Day. So, I feel very aligned to any message that is about doing work that really lights us up, that keeps us alive and awake on every level - mentally and emotionally and spiritually. I know that my work leading HerBusiness is totally inspired. My goal is to have Inspiration - the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative - be present in my work every single day. So, my question to you is… What lights you up? In this episode of the HerBusiness podcast I share: Three things you can do TODAY to bring more inspi

127: My 3 Words for 2020
01/01/2020 Duration: 15minHappy new year. For many of us, this is a time of contemplating and deliberately creating the new year. A time for envisioning what we want to do better, differently this year. A time for starting and breaking habits. Each January for a few years, I’ve taken on Chris Brogan‘s invitation to set three words as a focus for the year. Chris Brogan is an American author, journalist, marketing consultant, and speaker about social media marketing I’ve had the pleasure to meet and interview a few times. He has really great books like The Impact Equation, Trust Agents and one of my fave titles - The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth - Entrepreneurship for Weirdos, Misfits, and World Dominators. A couple of weeks back, Chris did a one-hour webinar where he talked through how to pick your three words, how to incorporate their usage into your day to day planning and execution, and how to use the My 3 Words method for deciding how best to make decisions that closely match your intentions. Chris says this about his process: “E

126: Go Bold. Set Gutsy New Year Goals
25/12/2019 Duration: 11minIf you were to be bolder in 2020 than you were in 2019, what would you do? What gutsy goals would you set? Each year I ask our HerBusiness Network members to consider this question as we get to the end of a year. And, this is a question that I too have asked myself for many years. At the start of 2019 members listed Bold Goals like: Launch a new course Write an e-book Create a debt-collection app Get paid to speak Take my family on a Holiday Embrace success in all forms Travel more Being less involved in the day-to-day customer service Get more reliable leads from an existing database I will have built my business enough to be able to quit my job of 15 years! Be SEEN. Get on video more (especially live videos). Complete my book (which is 1/2 complete). Finalise my divorce. Meet my Life Partner and be pregnant this time next year. Wow. They were some pretty amazing and bold goals. Your Bold Goal is your heart speaking what it wants. When you set that Bold Goal (even if you’re too afraid to verbalise it) it c

125: How to Start a Daily Journaling Habit (and What to Write About)
18/12/2019 Duration: 14minEver since I was young, I’ve kept a journal. There were years where I religiously spilled my guts into a journal, my first romances, my deepest worries, my concerns. Then, for many years I did not write. Many years. Like most of my 20s and part of my 30s. Today I write daily. It’s become a habit that I’m keen to keep up. One that I make a priority each morning, before I dive into my day. Here’s why... About 20 years ago I came across Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way and started again, using her guidance, to write regularly. I bought a bunch of her books The Sound of Paper, The Artist’s Way at Work… and I ate them up. I was in my late 20s and early 30s and so much was changing about my life I needed an outlet. I was in my own business and there was a lot of confusion about what I was doing and where I was going. And it really helped. In this episode I explain how I recently rediscovered the power of a daily journaling habit and how I got past the concern of not having anything to write or say. Listen to hear:

122: To Have a Presence, First Be Present
27/11/2019 Duration: 12minIn order to communicate effectively, we need to connect with our audience, whether that is ourselves if we are planning or working on an important project. Our partners… Our children… Our clients… Our social media followers… We connect when we are FULLY present with them. If they have actually acknowledged and understood our communication. Being present when we communicate matters with clients and prospects staff, partners, suppliers.
