The advanced medical center houses two hyperbaric chambers and is the only rural hospital in northeastern Arizona to offer this service. This addition is part of our goal to provide a complete system of medical and professional care to our patients. Summit Healthcare’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center is an outpatient, hospital-based program. The medical center is designed to complement the services offered by patients’ primary care physicians–in fact; we should think of it an extension of a physician’s practice. Patients receive outstanding, professional, and courteous attention in a timely fashion, and are returned to the referring physician once the healing is satisfactory. Exercise - physical activity Behavior - behavior/ mental health has a big impact on weight. Food choices can cause anxiety. The initial appointment takes about an hour. A unique program will be created for each individual.    Tips! Drink water, water, water. Sugar is more addictive than cocaine. Artificial Sweeteners trigger your sweet tooth.  Zero calorie or low calorie foods are not always the healthiest option. Vegetables are a MUST! For more information on the Telestroke Program visit https://summithealthcare.net/telestroke   FAST is an acronym used as a mnemonic to help detect and enhance responsiveness to the needs of a person having a stroke. The acronym stands for Facial drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulties and Time to call emergency services. Call 911 with these signs and get checked. Strokes are time sensitive.

Volunteers make approximately 1500-1700 heart pillows for patients each year. There are 8 pet therapy teams that visit patients in the hospital and cancer center and 5 chaplins for spiritual support and encouragement.  Volunteers are always needed! Monday- Friday with 2 shifts, 8am-12pm and 12pm-4pm with an acception to the Emergency Department.   Ask that minimum commitment is 4 hours a week, for 6 months. Must be at least 14 years old. There will be a background check performed and all volunteers will go through an Orientation like a new hire. Pick up your application at the Information Desk at Front Desk of hospital entrance. In this episode Birdman chats with Dr. Jones with Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center about Bronchiolitis, RSV, and Flu in young children. Winter is the busiest season for pediatrics due to viral infections.   Video @ https://youtu.be/_D1a4Tc8rmg   RSV typically occurs during this time of the year; November to May. RSV is a very contagious virus that affects the respiratory tract, usually in children under three. It can be more dangerous for children 0-3 years of age. When adults and older children have it, it's usually very mild (like a bad cold).  Help prevent RSV by washing your hands often, good hygiene, and staying away from sick people. Please watch for symptoms to know if your baby-toddler needs medical attention; difficulty breathing, eating, or dehydration.   Bronchiolitis is a common illness of the respiratory tract. She has worked with youth most of her career, but currently enjoys working with persons of all ages. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma.
