Charles Bronson vs. Bruce Willis (who would win?) The original is one of the classic revenge thrillers that has that satisfying edge of the bad guys getting what’s coming to them. Also shows the incompetence of government to “solve” the problem and how individuals accepting the responsibility for their own safety is a much more effective solution. The remake has a similar air to it, but tones down the social commentary by our hero and focuses more on the cat and mouse with the ridiculous final villain. In both however, the government has a monopoly on police services and has no incentive to actually solve the problem. Their biggest concern is “how it looks”, so they bury statistics that are unfavorable to their perception. Another funny thing was how hard they were hunting the “vigilante” and they had literally dozens of people in the room all working the case - such a huge waste of resources. A 5-3 majority held that a violation of Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures does not matter if excluding the tainted evidence would unnecessarily hurt the state’s interest in obtaining convictions. Nicky’s album this week is Everything That Is You by Thrailkill, which sounds a bit like Satriani if he decided to incorporate Fusion into Djent and spent a summer as the guitarist for Chevelle...probably better than that honestly. The songs take the prog tact where they have to be genuinely difficult to follow but at least some of those riffs on top of riffs are catchy. I’m always grateful when synth work seems to be an integral part of any album and this is especially rare in Guitar-prog where it is often left out to feature more guitar. Show Summary:  The first Libertarian Presidential debate was held on December 11th, 2018 for the 2020 election on the birthday of the Libertarian Party!  Each candidate made a three-minute opening statement, and was presented many questions including social media, taxes, war, and power!
