The Law Ep 16, Furman v Georgia. This 1972 Supreme Court decision temporarily halted all executions in the United States. Find out why.
13/12/2018 Duration: 26minIn a rare occurrence, the Supreme Court justices wrote nine different opinions, five in favor of vacating the death penalty for Furman and four opposed. Rollo McFloogle: Sounds Like Liberty-EP 26
12/12/2018 Duration: 01h20minIn today's episode Nicky P & Lizzie examine Ohio by Crosby Stills Nash & Young. Perhaps we should have chosen one with more lyrics? Worth bringing to the table either way. This week in I Heard This Happened: some one of my good friends electronic music and an upbeat pop-rock EP. Nicky’s album this week is Sentient Commuters by P.STOOPS. So i’m breaking with form & not linking to bandcamp this week. One of my good friends here in Cleveland just released a killer electronic album that is just as danceable as it is weird. It comes out on the 13th so follow the link to save it to your list of choice. Lizzie brings us No Time by Z By Z, an almost too poppy for me rock band. I can’t quite place what they remind my of, maybe Magic! meets RX Bandits meets the nice kids you went to highschool with. It’s a tight 3 song EP tho and keeps the blood pumping for sure. This week’s interview is with Rollo Mcfloogle, host of The Rollo & Slappy Show & brain trust of Inside Mcfloogles Mind. It’s always

Action Point - The Last Nighters - Episode 49
10/12/2018 Duration: 50minWe tackle a listener-suggested movie in Johnny Knoxville's Action Point. As he says, it's a mixed bag, but has some pretty good libertarianish points in it. The whole movie is about a guy fighting regulations, litigiousness, and political correctness culture with an emphatic emphasis on personal responsibility - with stunts - all wrapped around a nothing story with a flimsy plot. This one was a lot of fun. We will back next week discussing the Outlaw King, available now on Netflix.

The Law Ep 15, Salinas v. Texas, The Supreme Court holds that in order to assert your right to remain silent, you can not be silent. I am not kidding.
06/12/2018 Duration: 31minGenoveno Salinas was being questioned by police in connection with a double shotgun murder. He refused to answer a question about his shotgun. The government was allowed to use his silence against him, as evidence of his guilt, at trial. Doesn’t that violate the right to remain to silent? Not according to the Supreme Court.

From Beans To Boss With Jay Caetano: Sounds Like Liberty - Episode 25
05/12/2018 Duration: 01h03minIn today's episode Nicky P & Lizzie examine The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. Obviously a classic in the world of hip-hop, this song paints a bleak portrait of reality. I think they draw different conclusions why things are the way they are but i’m sure you’ll see what i see. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PobrSpMwKk4 This week in I Heard This Happened: some Nicky P original material & some Christmas Jazz... Nicky’s album this week is Vol. 1 by Puma Thurman. I won’t wax poetic because it’s my own album. Me and a bunch of my dad friends released create adventure rock. Most of the songs are about movies. Enjoy! http://www.pumarocks.com Lizzie brings us Luminous by Betty’s Bounce, a Django Reinhardt inspired gypsy jazz take on some holiday classics. Nothing to belabor just some fun takes on some seasonal classics...maybe Liz is taking this gypsy jazz thing too far. https://bettysbounce.bandcamp.com/album/luminous This week’s interview is with Jae Caetano, host of Anarcho Inc

The Lord of the Rings - The Last Nighters - Episode 48
03/12/2018 Duration: 53minIt’s December so come in and cozy up by the fires of Mount Doom. We venture into Mordor with the Anarchist Mom (www.AnarchistMom.com) to talk about one of her favorites in novel and film lore, the Lord of the Rings. It is one of our favorite movies and it has some interesting themes that when viewed from a Rothbardian perspective, are quite compelling. Though Tolkien was not a fan of allegory, you can clearly see the influence that his ideological beliefs had in his work which has influenced generations in the genre. Meat's back on the menu boys! Join us next week as we discuss the new Johnny Knoxville film, Action Point!

30/11/2018 Duration: 57minShow Summary: There is no shortage of great liberty leaders in the United States with integrity, strength, and vision, but there is something standing in their way, the ballot box. This week we welcome D. Frank Robinson one of the earliest members of the Libertarian Party, chaired the Constitution, Bylaws and the Rules Committee at the founding LP convention in 1972 and authored the 7/8ths rule. Unlike Democrats or Republicans, independents and third parties have to fight their way onto the ballot in all 50 states. Only the judiciary can step up and overturn this arbitrary, irrational and discriminatory set of laws and statutes. Listen to find out how! About The Guest: D. Frank Robinson was Born in Oklahoma in 1942. He Attended the University of Central Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma. The Law Ep 14, NCAA v. Tarkanian, The 14th Amendment, state action and college basketball.
29/11/2018 Duration: 21minThe NCAA ordered UNLV to fire its head basketball coach, Jerry Tarkanian, back in the ‘80’s. Tarkanian sued, claiming the NCAA violated his due process rights. But the Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, said the NCAA was a private organization and not subject to such a lawsuit.

You Know Everyone? With Alex Shaw: Sounds Like Liberty - Episode 24
28/11/2018 Duration: 01h26minIn today's episode Nicky P & Lizzie examine Anthem by Rush. I shouldn’t need to say much about this one, it’s literally based on an Ayn Rand book’s themes. It’s also a kick ass rock song without being overly complex in lyric or musicality. This week in I Heard This Happened: different Jazz’s. Does that make sense? I said it cause it sounds confusing.. Nicky’s album this week is Underwater by Elephant Gym. Somewhere between jazz, funk, modern prog and hip hop, this album is great of purely thinky music. It keeps spiraling down, down, down. It’s primarily instrumental but does incorporate a few different vocalist on the second half. My favorite part is where the MC on Bad Dream keeps shifting between what I assume is Japanese and English. Lizzie brings us Sprinkled Eyes by Dotschy Reinhardt. An interesting jazz guitar slash singer songwriter album by an German artist. It has moments where it carries the breezy feeling of Corrine Bailey Rae but with a more complicated guitar emphasis. Clearly trying to

Blast Off! With Johnny Rocket Episode #22: Butterballs Deep! (w/ Lions of Liberty)
23/11/2018 Duration: 59minShow Summary: Blast Off! with Johnny Rocket welcomes the coolest libertarian podcasters (Lions of Liberty) you know to toss back some adult beverages and bullshit about all sorts of liberty and non-liberty related topics, including the question “If our shows were ’80’s sitcoms, which would be Perfect Stranger and which would be Family Matters?”, the difference between flying and hovering, and….ok, maybe not so much about liberty but hey, it’s Thanksgiving! The Law Ep 13, County of Santa Clara v. Southern Pac. Railroad, The 14th Amendment, corporations, and reading cases correctly.
22/11/2018 Duration: 24minThis case is sometimes cited for the proposition that corporations are “persons” pursuant to the 14th Amendment. It does not say that. But how should corporations be treated? Aren’t they nothing more than a collection of individuals in a voluntary association?

Please Don’t Cancel Us With Johnny Rocket: Sounds Like Liberty - Episode 23
21/11/2018 Duration: 01h28minIn today's episode Nicky P & Lizzie examine Cult Of Personality by Living Colour. Aside from being one of the greatest collection of musicians to ever perform, they also never shied away from making a statement. This particular song has always been a favorite. Where does it stand in my life after Ancap-ism? This week in I Heard This Happened: some posthumous soul & one of the greatest band names i’ve ever seen.. Nicky’s album this week is Black Velvet by Charles Bradley. This dudes story is amazing enough but they did him right with this release. It captures the earnest soul of his previous releases but broadens the palate in great ways. My personal favorites are Luv Jones and Stay Away (a beautifully reimagined Nirvana cover.) Lizzie brings us Schlock Value from Harmonica Lewinsky, lo-fi garage-punk surfsploitation contradiction that does more than enough justice to earn their name. This week’s interview is with Johnny Rocket, host of the once upon a time Johnny Rockets Launchpad and current ho
