Episode 103: We’re talking about squat PR’s, the right way to say caramel, and getting buried alive. . In the midst of all that, we discuss the differences between striving to have a positive mindset on a daily basis and continuously working to what find what works best for you personally, vs the fake positivity and ‘one-size-fits-all’ life advice that is rampant on social media these days. We talk about the fact that we’re all individuals who have unique life experiences, and the importance of not passing judgement on other people just because their experiences are different from our own. . • E-99: Regression Toward The Mean

    26/08/2020 Duration: 50min

This week we are talking about Regression To The Mean. This is a phenomenon that accrues in a wide array of research that states that if a sample point of a variable is extreme, then a future point will be closer to the mean or average. How does this apply to our lives? Our experiences can be applied to this phenomenon in the same way. If we have an extreme experience wether that experience be bad or good, the likelihood is that future experiences will be closer to average. So when we acknowledge the temporary nature of extreme situations in our lives, we are able to also acknowledge that things will eventually go back to normal. Given this information, and the pursuit of bettering ourselves, our option is to learn from the extreme to improve on our average. If we can improve on the mean, and improve on our ability to deal with the temporary extreme we CAN live better.

If we can learn to value and bet on our own ability to create solutions for ourselves, we will be far more likely to live independently and happily. #SBTR

It’s a topic thats hard to understand in a world where we get gratification so quickly and so easily. Time is our friend, the more time we put into the development of a skill the better we get at it. • E-85: You Haven’t Earned It Yet

    27/06/2020 Duration: 44min

You haven’t earned it yet. . The top 10% of people in anything are easy to look at as oddities. They are. People who defy the norm will always be celebrated and propped up because their achievements fall outside the margins of possibility for most common people. . Why? . In some cases genetics undeniably play a factor. However, even with that factor most of these people posses an unmeasurable capacity for work and focus. We tend to disregard this when looking at their accomplishments in awe or we look at this capacity as innately inhuman which some are born with and some are not. The problem is: work isn’t genetic. Its universal. . You’d be hard pressed to find a successful person without their own set of challenges and unique reasons why. We just tend to make mountains of our indifference. Our best weapon is seeing who we are objectively. Knowing how to take off our rose colored glasses when looking at ourselves is extremely powerful. What time isn’t being allocated to our goals? What habit is prohibitive an
