Episodes

  • #139 Shortcuts

    22/12/2022 Duration: 17min

I thought this episode to be apropos for this evening. It's the winter solstice. The shortest day of the year, so it makes sense to talk about shortcuts. This is a throwback from October where I reminisce about a trainer encouraging people to take shortcuts to their goals. We'll discuss what that might mean for you in the new year. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #138 Pushup Variations

    20/12/2022 Duration: 07min

In this episode, I talked about the famous Herschel Walker pushup routine. While he may not be the most popular name right now, at one time, he was the most gifted athlete on the field. It's been said and verified that he did up to 3,000 pushups a day. That's an amazing feat and we're going to look into how one can accomplish that on their own today. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #137 Why You Should Give a Damn

    16/12/2022 Duration: 13min

This is a replay from earlier this year, but it's an excellent one that talks about why people should STOP caring what other people think and start caring MORE about what they think about themselves. So many people put pressure on themselves to live up to others' expectations or keep up appearances that they don't think to look at what they actually want from life. • #136 Magic

    15/12/2022 Duration: 32min

This was a fun episode about magic and the occult. I've been learning more about it recently because my associate just got her certification in astrology and tarot reading and I wanted to know more about it. What I found couldn't cover one episode, but I tried my best to give you the most valuable part which is the 12 Universal Laws. Much of this was researched online. However, there is a very interesting book that I'm going to link up here that I highly suggest you read. It has a ton of insight into what the original doctrines and rituals were that gave rise to our current religions and beliefs as well as dropped a couple of pointers on how you can use the tactics of the sorcerers and witches of old to conjure and manifest whatever you want.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #135 Choices

    13/12/2022 Duration: 12min

A life without having made a choice is a life unlived. We all make choices in life whether we want to or not. Even when we don't make a choice, we actively choose not to do so. So with that understanding, we now have to accept our choices. Today, we will be talking about the choices we make and how they affect our lives. For better or for worse, it's worthwhile to understand our choices and the freedom we have to (not) make them. We should also understand that there will always be rewards and/or consequences for each of our decisions.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #134 Balance

    10/12/2022 Duration: 13min

In today's episode, I talked about balance and what it can cost you if you don't have good balance. Studies show that if you are over the age of 65 there is a decent chance that a fall could result in death. I talked about a few exercises that you can try, but I also talked about balance in life. Everyone talks about work/life balance, but that can be misleading when it comes to living a healthy fulfilled life. Find out how you can improve every aspect of your balance in today's episode. • #133 The Best Exercise For You

    08/12/2022 Duration: 15min

A lot of people ask me what the best exercise is for ______. Fill in the blank there. I answered that question a few times today on social media and it made me think about what would be the best overall exercise for everyone. So today, we talked a lot about functional training and its various benefits as well as the most beneficial exercise you can do consistently. The answer might surprise you, so listen closely and take notes.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #132 Best Practices In Making Yourself Feel The Best

    06/12/2022 Duration: 20min

Around this time of year, people are either shutting it down and relaxing to enjoy the holidays or are beefing up their fitness game in preparation for all the holiday treats they'll consume. This is not without its drawbacks, however. When you work out vigorously, you can often get sore and achy. Many people don't know what to do to alleviate this without simply popping some Advil. In this episode, we're going to discover the most beneficial ways to ease those aches and pains without a bottle or pill. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #131 Analysis Paralysis

    03/12/2022 Duration: 16min

This is the time of year when people start getting bombarded by sales, coupons, and deals. Meal plans, gym memberships, holiday cleanses. It can be overwhelming, but today we're gonna help you solve that problem and get you moving forward to a healthier and happier new year.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #130 What Do You Really Need?

    01/12/2022 Duration: 13min

This is a revisit to a previous episode about safety. I wanted to go a little deeper because a lot of people think about success in the wrong way. Many people think that once they get a Bentley or a Lamborghini they'll be good. I can tell you from personal experience that a fancy car or fancy clothes don't do anything for your mental game. You can still be crying in a Lamborghini and it's actually worse because you'll likely be crying alone because you can't really fit that many people in a sports car. Self-actualization is what it's all about and in this episode, I talk about how you can get there.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #129 Love Yourself

    29/11/2022 Duration: 12min

It's important to take care of your body because it's the only one you've got. But you also have only one life. Taking care of yourself doesn't always mean going on crazy diets, but it also doesn't mean eating anything you want. Today we're gonna explore what it really means to love yourself.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #128 Ankle Mobility

    24/11/2022 Duration: 07min

Someone was asking me the other day about a dance move I had executed. I had gotten it from Michael Jackson, so it was pretty sweet, but I learned how important it is to ankle health many years after I learned the move. How do you dance your way to healthier ankles? Let's moonwalk together and find out how we can improve your gait. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #127 You're Not Ruined

    22/11/2022 Duration: 07min

This is the time of year when diets get ruined. Every year, people work all spring to get ready for summer; as the temperature drops, their weight increases. Very common and very relatable for most. The thing for most people is that they stay in ruin. Today I'm dropping some "Monday Motivation" to pick you back up and get you back on your horse so you can ride out the year strong or at the very least, confident that you can recover from whatever disaster you incur.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #126 Should You Do Leg Extensions?

    18/11/2022 Duration: 10min

Here's another episode about what you should or shouldn't do in the gym. Should you use the leg extension machine? Listen to this episode to find out. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #125 Should You Overhead Press?

    17/11/2022 Duration: 20min

Doctors have been telling my clients for years that they shouldn't do overhead presses. Why should(n't) you do them? Are they valuable? These are just some of the questions I will answer in the fitness gem filled episode.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #124 Cheetah Compassion

    15/11/2022 Duration: 20min

The problem with cancel culture isn't that it's obnoxious, but it teaches us some ineffective ways of dealing with others. It essentially leads us to all be robots and to annihilate one another with swift and reactive judgment. Let's have a conversation about a more productive way to be compassionate.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #123 Running Towards Success

    10/11/2022 Duration: 19min

In our last episode, we talked about running and being pushed away from failure. It's a great motivator, but we're going to talk today about the second half of that equation that makes it an even more effective formula for success. Today we're going to look into what it looks like to follow success and be pulled along by a healthy vision. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #122 Running From Failure

    08/11/2022 Duration: 17min

What is failure? It's usually an issue with execution. But it's more than just that. Failure is something that can teach us a lesson, just as long as it's not fatal. In today's episode, I talk about the role that accountability plays in your endeavors and what that has to do with your overall vision of success.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

    04/11/2022 Duration: 21min

We're going to talk about that supposed smartest person because we might just be talking about someone you know. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support

  • #120 The Sleep & Rest Episode

    03/11/2022 Duration: 28min

Do you get enough rest? How about enough sleep? There's actually a difference and I want to talk about how some of the most successful people in history used sleep (rather than staying up late) to improve their creativity and reasoning to solve problems, create new society-changing devices, and improve their focus. How do you ask? Well, listen to this episode where I talk about the difference between rest and sleep and a particular type of sleep that has helped the likes of Salvador Dali produce some of the world's most creative work and Bill Gates become the billionaire that he is today. To name a few... --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/generalfitnesscompany/support
