  • The Messenger

    18/09/2022

In this sermon, we launch our new series from the book of Romans. Pastor Dave Furman introduces us to this grand epistle penned by the Apostle Paul—a letter that has been called the greatest ever written because of its deep theological truths coupled with practical instructions on how Christians should live. This sermon is titled “The Messenger” and comes from Romans 1:1.

  • The Commissioning

    11/09/2022

The apostle Peter had confessed that Jesus was the Messiah, but he’d also betrayed Jesus as the rooster crowed three times on the night of Jesus’s arrest. In this last scene in the Gospel of John, we witness both Peter’s love for his Savior and Jesus’s gentle restoration of his disciple. In this sermon Pastor Scott Zeller preaches “The Commissioning” from John 21:15–25.

  • The Breakfast

    04/09/2022

As John draws his Gospel to a close, he gives us a glimpse of one more scene in Jesus’s life. After a long, unsuccessful night of fishing, the disciples are surprised to meet Jesus on the shore, where he not only provides a successful haul of fish for them but also cooks them breakfast. He was their Lord just as he is our Lord and he cares and provides for those who follow him. In this sermon Pastor Chris Lejeune preaches “The Breakfast” from John 21:1–14.

  • The Appearing

    30/08/2022

After first appearing to Mary at the tomb, Jesus presented himself that evening to his disciples as they were gathered together. Thomas, however, was not with them and did not see him, leading him to express doubts that Jesus had truly risen from the grave. But Jesus had risen and he would appear to Thomas, too, directly addressing Thomas’s particular doubts. The apostle John penned his Gospel so that those who read it would behold Jesus and believe that he is our Lord and our God. In this sermon Redeemer Director of Operations Hudson Smith preaches “The Appearing” from John 20:19–31.

  • The Resurrection

    21/08/2022

Jesus is alive! While Jesus died in place of sinners on the cross, taking on the sins of the world and experiencing divine judgment, his death would have been meaningless if things had ended there. But three days later, on a Sunday before dawn, Jesus rose from the grave — and that changes everything! In John 20:1–18 we read that as John entered the empty tomb, he saw and he believed! A short time later, Mary Magdalene experienced the joy of seeing Jesus in the flesh, and as she went to tell the disciples, she announced, “I have seen the Lord!” The joy that they experienced can be yours, too. Believe that Jesus has risen from the dead and that he has paid the price for your sins, too, and experience the joy of union with the victorious, life-giving, risen Christ. In this sermon Pastor Chris Lejeune preaches “The Resurrection.”

  • The Crucifixion

    14/08/2022

On a seemingly average Friday in the early first century AD, a man staggered under the weight of the cross he was carrying as he made his may to Golgotha in Jerusalem, where he was mocked, beaten, and crucified. As his spirit left his body, his one final cry percolated through the noise of the jeering crowd: “It is finished.” It was finished — Jesus, the Son of God, had come to do his Father’s will, and in laying down his life for others, absorbing the wrath of a just and holy God against willful and disobedient, people, he paid the price for their sin. Through Jesus Christ, sinners are reconciled to God, and this is made possible because Jesus willingly died in our stead, paying the cost of our sins. This, friends, is the good news, the gospel. He loved us, so he died for us. In this sermon, Pastor John Bachan preaches “The Crucifixion” from John 19:17–42.

  • The Judgment

    07/08/2022

Arrested and accused, Jesus was brought before Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea, where the Jewish leaders demanded that Jesus be crucified as punishment for what they considered blasphemy— after all, Jesus claimed to be God. In John 18:28—19:16, we witness the extraordinary exchange between Pilate and Jesus, where Pilate both makes a mockery of Jesus’s kingship and at the same time recognizes that this man was innocent. But rather than submit and honor the true King, Pilate gives in to the mob, delivering the Son of God over to be crucified. In this sermon, Pastoral Assistant Samuel Iwuchukwu preaches “The Judgment.”

  • The Arrest

    31/07/2022

Having prayed one final prayer for his followers after the Passover meal, Jesus and his disciples left the upper room, crossed the brook Kidron, red with the blood of thousands of lambs who had been sacrificed, and entered the Garden of Gethsemane. There he was met by the betrayer Judas and a band of soldiers who had come to arrest him. In this tense moment, we see Jesus’ claim of deity, his authority, his willingness to go to the cross, and his compassion even for his enemies. In this sermon, Pastoral Assistant Allen Mandap preaches “The Arrest” from John 18:1–27.

  • The Prayer for the Disciples

    24/07/2022

As Jesus prayed, he cried out to his Father on behalf of those who followed him. He prayed that God would protect them and sanctify them, making them holy and preparing them as they were sent out into the world on mission. He also prayed for us today —those of us who call upon his name and submit to him as Lord and Savior — and for his church, his followers gathered together in unity in one body. It is through his church that the world will know that Jesus is the Son of the Father and was sent by him to redeem the world. In this sermon, Pastor Scott Zeller preaches “The Prayer for the Disciples” from John 17:6–26.

  • The Prayer for Glory

    17/07/2022

In this message from the Gospel of John we come to the core of Jesus’s heart as he lifts up one final public prayer before sacrificing his life on the cross. In his high priestly prayer, Jesus prays for his and his Father’s glory. As he goes to the cross, the gloriousness of the Father and the Son are displayed though God’s holiness, his hatred of sin, and his sacrificial redeeming love. In this video, Pastor Chris Lejeune preaches “The Prayer for Glory” from John 17:1–5.

  • The Overcomer

    10/07/2022

The disciples’ grief was immense as Jesus prepared them for his death. And yet, Jesus assured them that their sorrow would soon turn to joy. They would rejoice when they saw him again — for he would return! — and they would have peace because Jesus had overcome the world. They could take comfort in knowing that the Father loved them and that if they prayed in Jesus’s name, their joy would multiply. In this sermon, Pastor Daniel Maondu preaches “The Overcomer” from John 16:16–33.

  • The Helper

    03/07/2022

Judas Iscariot had already departed the Upper Room to betray Jesus. Peter had been told by Jesus that he would deny him. Jesus’s death was imminent. The disciples were understandably anxious about what was to come, but Jesus reassures them that his leaving is to their advantage — that the Holy Spirit would come to them to help them, comfort them, and bring a right understanding of sin, righteousness, and judgment. That same Spirit is at work in Christians today. Listen as Pastor Joe Mathew preaches “The Helper” from John 16:4–15.

  • The Persecuted

    26/06/2022

As Jesus anticipates his impending death on the cross, he prepares his disciples for what will happen to them after he is gone. They will be persecuted because of their love for Jesus — some even killed — but such persecution will be an encouragement to them because it identifies them with their Savior. He also assures them he will send a Helper and that through this Helper they will boldly tell others about who Jesus truly is and what he has done on behalf of sinners. Listen as Chris Moore, Redeemer coordinator for equipping, preaches “The Persecuted” from John 15:18—16:4.

  • The Vine

    19/06/2022

Throughout the Gospel of John, Jesus made several “I Am” statements — declaratory proclamations of who he is — and in the last one before he went to the cross, he pronounced, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.” This week Mike Mathis, Redeemer director of family ministries, preaches “The Vine” from John 15:1–17. The richness of this declaration is astounding — our lives and the source of all we do is bound up in Jesus. Those who belong to Christ bear fruit that is produced through his lifeblood. Moreover, in hardships and suffering, we can trust that God’s capable hands are pruning us so that we may produce even more fruit that reflect the character of our Savior.
